Zack Snyder’s ‘Justice League’ is all set to release as a four-part mini-series on HBO Max this year and actor Harry Lennix has now seemingly confirmed its release date.
Zack Snyder’s ‘Justice League’ is the upcoming director’s cut of the hit 2017 superhero flick ‘Justice League’. Based on a DC Comics superhero team of the same name, it is all set to release on HBO Max this year as a 4-part miniseries which will eventually also be released as a single movie combining all four episodes. It is one of the most ambitious ventures of the streaming service yet and is one of the most widely anticipated shows of the year. The cast of the original movie is returning along with some new faces who will take the action and adventure up a notch. The 2017 movie had suffered from a difficult production which had forced Snyder to step down and Joss Whedon to take over. In 2020, it was announced that HBO Max had decided to release Snyder’s original cut in the form of a limited series. Actor Harry Lennix who will be playing Martian Manhunter in the movie, in a new interview, has revealed that the project will most likely release in March 2021.

Zack Snyder’s ‘Justice League’: Your favourite superheroes are back together!
The miniseries is set after the death of Superman in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)’. Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and Batman (Ben Affleck) start recruiting Arthur Curry/Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Barry Allen/The Flash (Ezra Miller), and Victor Stone/Cyborg (Ray Fisher) to constitute the Justice League to win the fight against Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds) and his army of Parademons, who are looking for the three Mother Boxes.
Zack Snyder’s ‘Justice League’ is exceptionally star-studded and will also feature Henry Cavill as Superman, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Amy Adams as Louis Lane, Joe Manganiello as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Amber Heard as Mera, J. K. Simmons as James Gordon, Harry Lennix as Calvin Swanwick/J’onn J’onzz/Martian Manhunter, Jared Leto as Joker, and Diane Lane as Martha Kent amongst others.
When the ‘Justice League’ film opened to mixed reviews from both critics and viewers in 2017, a petition to release Snyder’s version of the movie began surfacing. #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement started trending on all social media platforms as fans were disappointed with Joss’ work. This eventually prompted HBO Max to step in and purchase the movie rights of Snyder’s original work for future release.
Revival and differences from the 2017 movie
The four episodes will be of one hour each and will not be set in the same continuity as the 2017 version. It will also not include any scenes from the movie and will consist of more storylines, myths, and new characters. The cost of the additional shoot has been evaluated at 70 million dollars which was completed in the latter half of 2020. It will be released in a 1.66:1 aspect ratio.
Release date update
Actor Harry Lennix, who will be playing Martian Manhunter, has disclosed that the series is most likely to release sometime in March 2021. He said,
“I think we can put the rumour to bed. Yes, I am the Martian Manhunter. I am eternally grateful to Zack for seeing it through. It came about in a very circuitous way. The fans demanded that his vision be given a fair viewing. He actually tagged me in a post on Instagram with the canisters of the cut. So, it’s complete, when exactly it comes out I don’t know. I’ve heard March, I don’t know when in March or even if it will be in March. But I’m over the moon”.
This interview has come after Zack Snyder’s tweet saying that the show will come out in March.
Fans are excited to see what the upcoming series has in store for them and they are hoping that it won’t disappoint them like Whedon’s version did.
