Currently airing its third season, Young Sheldon is now surviving without its parent series The Big Bang Theory. With viewership already plummeting after TBBT went off air, it would be hard for Young Sheldon to keep rolling after season 4. The Big Bangers! About the spin-off of The Big Bang Theory- Young Sheldon
Young Sheldon is a prequel series focusing on the childhood of nerdy and socially awkward geek-Sheldon Cooper, whose older version is the central character in The Big Bang Theory. Iain Armitage plays the child prodigy Young Sheldon Cooper and Jim Parsons, who played his older version in TBBT, acts as a narrator in the series.
Since the beginning, the series has received mixed reviews. One section whole-heartedly admires how the series captures the struggle of the Coopers to raise an Asperger genius, giving the audience hilarious moments along with emotional punches.

But Young Sheldon did leave some Big Bangers or Bazingarist disappointed. They found the series dry in humor. Of course, there are funny moments in the show but they are overtly simplified jokes. Not good enough for a series based on a super smart character!
Major Loopholes in the plot of Young Sheldon
Many Reddit users have pointed- “Why aren’t the Coopers fighting?” Every Big Banger knows how harshly Sheldon spoke of his family in TBBT. His father George Cooper (played by Lance Barber in Young Sheldon) is often described by Sheldon as being verbally abusive against his mother and he said he was a “raging alcoholic”. He even mentioned to his group that his father cheated on his mum.
But Young Sheldon carries an altogether different vibe, in complete contrast to how Sheldon from TBBT described them. Reddit user bd_smithy said— “My problem with Young Sheldon, I was watching reruns of The Big Bang Theory and Sheldon makes his childhood seem a lot worse than it is shown in the show.
“For example George and Mary (Zoe Perry) never fight, Sheldon’s never really bullied by Billy (Wyatt McClure) or Missy (Reagan Revord) and Georgie (Montana Jordan).
“So it seems very unlike the childhood Sheldon describes in The Big Bang Theory.”
Some viewers even feel that older Sheldon was distorting the truth. While one user named Shubhamptl8 explained: “The directors said that the narrator Sheldon is now old with children and that he sees what his parents did in a much better light now instead of looking down on them. It’s his (Sheldon) story to tell and he’s decided to tell the good parts until now.”
We will have to wait for season 4 of Young Sheldon or later seasons, if that happens, to connect the dots of this un-synced tale.
Release date of Young Sheldon Season 4
Young Sheldon was renewed for season 4 even before the premiere of season 3. It is no brainer that season 4 of Young Sheldon will release in September 2020 following its historic release pattern. Most probably, the series will premiere on 24th September 2020.
Owing to drop in viewership of Young Sheldon after TBBT went off air, a huge section feels that the network should do away with the vestigial spin-off of already stretched parent series. Many feel that Young Sheldon should be canceled after season 4.
While there is no announcement on renewal of Young Sheldon for season 5, CBC will likely shelve Young Sheldon after season 4. Although, currently the network is confident that the prequel series has the potential and can keep up despite the absence of The Big Bang Theory on TV.
