What has Young Sheldon been about so far?
The American comedy series is a spin off prequel to The Big Bang theory. Young Sheldon revolves Sheldon Cooper and his family who live in East Texas. Currently running on its 3rd installment, the series has been well appreciated by most TBBT fans.
The first season introduces the protagonist along with his parents, grandmother, twin sister and older brother who live a simple Texan life. Mary, Sheldon’s mother, is quite the religious force that makes sure to get everyone to church for the weekly service. George Cooper Sr., Sheldon’s father, is the football coach who enjoys two things the most: Beer and football.
Sheldon’s grandmother Connie, A.K.A Meemaw is the sassy granny every kid needs in their life. She’s a country gal who likes her men like fine wine. His twin sister Missy and older brother George “Georgie” Cooper Jr. don’t always see eye-to-eye with him which is quite interesting to watch.
The second season takes the audience through Sheldon’s journey of trying to fit in at school. He tests his knowledge with Dr. Sturgis who also by now is dating Connie. Sheldon continues to question the existence of God, and ends up creating his own religion that he called ‘Mathology’.

Season 3 is where the audience begins to lose interest. Unlike its parent show, the prequel has been criticized for not being as funny. This season was basically a combination break ups, make ups and concerns for one another.
While Mary is worried about Sheldon going crazy like Dr Sturgis did, Connie breaks up with the professor. This puts Sheldon in an uncomfortable position since he is told not to be friends with Sturgis anymore. Georgie keeps falling in and out of “love” with his girlfriends. George Sr. begins to teach college football and also accidently causes an injury to the school librarian Ms. Hutchins.
Everything that’s in store for season 4
While fans are clueless about what might be in season 4, the date for the season premier has been finalized to sometime in September 2020. Now that The Big Bang Theory has ended, fans are hoping to see a story line that will lead to the main plot of TBBT.
Time for some Reality Checks
But I must warn you not to get too excited. There are speculations that the show might go off air after season 4. According to Nielsen ratings, the total viewers (in million) from season 1 to season 3 dropped from 22.46 to 11.75. The ratings had an equal downfall with a 3.8/5 in the first episode to 1.1/5 in the recent released episode.

These digits can be quite embarrassing for creator Chuck Lorre as the prequel hasn’t done well in comparison to The Big Bang Theory. Consequently, the audience might not get to see Young Sheldon grow to Adult Sheldon. So much for a Bazinga!
