Big Bang Theory’s successful spinoff Young Sheldon will feature a prominent lead character coming to Young Sheldon in Season 4. Who will it!
Big Bang Theory may have ended but Young Sheldon it’s spinoff series is certainly carrying the legacy the long-running successful show has left behind. Young Sheldon which focuses on the life of Sheldon growing up in Texas has so far had three very successful seasons to its name and the fourth one is along it’s way too.
Highlights:
- The young Big Bang
- Best Of Friends: Penny And Sheldon
- Why Young Sheldon Will Feature This Relationship?

A spinoff, of course, suggests that there are lives interconnected and tied together in a way that makes the audience divulge further into the world and mind of their favourite characters. And so far, Young Sheldon has done exactly that as we watch this journey through humour, empathy and understanding the child prodigy that Sheldon is.
But where lives our connected, it seems like Sheldon has always had a certain next-door girlfriend around him.
The Young Big Bang
There are a lot of things that infuriate Sheldon (played by Jim Parsons) in The Big Bang Theory series. But when it comes to people, Sheldon doesn’t really connect with them or even understand them. Sheldon, as we can also see from the younger version of him in Young Sheldon, doesn’t understand the emotional spectrum of people like other human beings do.
Penny (played by Kaley Cuoco) is the one character on the Big Bang Theory who is not only aware of it but gets on Sheldon’s nerves for her lack of will for bending by Sheldon’s quirks. But the relationship between them is far from being a sour one.
As the seasons progress, we see Sheldon and Penny’s polar opposite personalities result into the opposite of opposite. Penny always taking Sheldon’s case not only blossoms into a beautiful friendship that both their better half envy (Amy and Leonard) it also results in to a admirable personality development for Sheldon.
But when does this friendship or shall we say foe-ship really start?

Best Of Friends: Penny And Sheldon
Till now, fans have been wondering if we will see an actual crossover between Young Sheldon and The Big Bang Theory happening in flesh? It might be happening but not in the way you’d think it was.
Fans have a reason to believe that a younger version of Penny might appear in Young Sheldon Season 4. The speculation started when Kaley Cuoco’s voice appeared in an episode of Young Sheldon Season 3. In the particular episode, Sheldon gets a nightmare in which the water of a swimming pool turns into a monster and speaks to him.
The pool monster’s voice was instantly recognised by fans as the voice of actor Kaley Cuoco who plays Penny. Which was then soon confirmed by the producer of the show.
Will this long lasting rivalry/ friendship we saw in The Big Bang Theory be explored in Young Sheldon as well?
Why Young Sheldon Will Feature This Relationship
To get things right off the bat, both the characters Sheldon and Penny had one thing in common from the moment Big Bang Theory started. They both grew up in Texas. Although, having lead very different lives it won’t be a surprise if they crossed paths as kids.
Sheldon’s mother was shown as an avid church-goer and Penny’s family has also been mentioned to go to the church. Not only that, on many different occasions Penny has identified her younger self to be a bully and Sheldon has identified his younger self to be a victim of bullying.
So, it is quite possible that Season 4 of Young Sheldon will feature a younger Sheldon and Penny going at each other’s throats. And if the elder versions of them were that adorable fighting each other, you can only imagine what the younger ones would look like.
