The critics consensus conclusion states that— “With its state-of-the-art animation, unorthodox hero, and gut-bustlingly funny jabs at the shounen genre, One-Punch Man is simply a knockout”
Meanwhile, the second season received a number of mixed reviews. Critics believe that change in the direction, production and studio, brought down the quality of the animation.
A fan’s note on reddit read- “Honestly I would have preferred they held off on S2 altogether until they could get a proper team/studio behind it to keep it on par with Season 1. The pacing isn’t bothering me too much since I know what’s coming from the webcomic and manga but it’s just so damn disappointing that it’s simply not as enjoyable to watch.”
But nonetheless, fans continued to encourage other OPM fans to watch the 2nd season, if they hadn’t already. @w3are138 on reddit pointed out that the season wasn’t as great but it was still worth watching it. “I mean at this point you love the characters and you’re invested in the story so…yeah worth watching. However, the animation is pretty much what you’ve been hearing and nowhere near s1 quality. But still, I’d say it’s worth watching for the story & charas” exclaimed the fan.
Everything You Need To Know About Season 3
It took 4 years for Japan to experience the second season of their favourite anime series. Now that the series is globally acclaimed, fans all around the world are excited for season 3 and are eagerly waiting for its release.
There are fan theories making the rounds that mostly predict Saitama will not be seen as much and the focus will continue to expand on the Monsters Association. Which could further mean that there will a greater amount of focus on equally important characters like, Genos, King, Fubuki, etc, all of whom are compelling and often hilarious figures in their own right.
While there is no official statement, there are speculations that the new season could probably be released in the next 4-5 years from now. “Reassuring Considering how much content S2 is chewing up I would say that if there is a S2 then it would take a few years for a S3 adaption. And pray to God it is picked up by a better team…” said a fan.
