Marvel Studio took fans’ imaginations for a trip as they merged two or more Universes in some of the MCU movies. Now with the X-Men under their banner, the possibilities are endless.
X-Men will surely be joining the Avengers sooner or later. Initially, everything was foggy around how was Marvel Studios planning to introduce the mutants into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But with time, it is getting clearer. In Marvel Comics, the X Men and the Avengers are mostly allies and join forces. But sometimes, the comics have found them as foes. What will it be in the MCU?
- X-Men: Homecoming
- Mutants are all set to change
- X-Men who might join the Avengers
It was back in 1993 that Marvel sold X-Men’s rights to 20th Century Fox to improvise their finances. This was followed by more recent rights of Fantastic Four and Spider-Man. But 2008 changed the game for Marvel when they chose to produce their own movies. Disney later acquired Marvel Studios and the two together gave us some of the top-grossing movies. And after 3 decades and 20 movies, the Marvel Cinematic Universe took the crown of the most profitable film franchise in the history of mankind.
With such a huge success under their belt and loads of money in their pockets, Marvel Studios decided to bring their long-orphaned characters home. With the merger of Disney and Fox, Marvel Studios now has access to one of their prized possessions— the X Men.
Mutants are all set to change
The mutants might be back to their origin, but will they be the same? Over the years, fans developed a sense of connection to Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Halle Berry as Storm, Patrick Stewart as Professor Xavier. They have been portraying their roles for so long that it is hard to adapt to new faces. Will Marvel Studios be benevolent enough to not change them? The hard truth is— No.
How can we say for sure? When Spider-Man returned to Marvel Studios with Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tom Holland was introduced as the superhero. So, it is highly likely that we will see new faces in the X-Men world whenever Marvel Studios chooses to bring them to the big screen. It will be a complete X-Men reboot.
X-Men Who Will Join Avengers
MCU already has one! Scarlett Witch once belonged to the X-Men world. Apart from that, there were rumors that Wolverine will join the Avengers. But it will be a while before we see the robust character in the Marvel Universe. So, who all will join? Here are our top contenders for X-Men who will join Avengers—
According to an insider, Marvel Studios are planning to introduce Storm in Black Panther 2. In Marvel Comics, Storm joined the Avengers so it would not be long after Phase 4 that she joins the team in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Disney Plus’s Wanda Vision will see the introduction of Abigail Brand, commander of a S.H.I.E.L.D. division who has ties with X-Men’s Beast. So, Abigail Brand clears the path for X-Men’s Beast to join Avengers in the future.
According to sources, ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ will introduce ‘The Illuminati’. This is a group of intelligent beings who are powerful enough to take on threats that the Avengers are unequipped to handle.
With this group and X-Men’s homecoming, there are high chances that fans might see Professor Xavier join the Avenger, Doctor Strange.
X-Men’s Rogue has been the highlight of Marvel gossips for some time now. This is all thanks to the rumour that for Captain Marvel 2, Rogue will be the main villain. (Many fans aren’t convinced with this as this theory does not fit right, but the rumors are getting more intense every day).
Marvel Comics saw X-Men’s Rogue join forces with the Avengers. So, if she really is cast in Captain Marvel 2, there are high chances we will see Rogue in the Avengers team soon.
