Oh! You really thought we won’t bring this one up? Come on, this isn’t so tough. Just choose between Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad and Jake Peralta from Brooklyn 99.
This is science, bi**h. Okay, this might not be science, but who cares. Breaking Bad and Brooklyn 99 are two of our favourite shows, and so are Jesse Pinkman and Jake Peralta, two of our favourite characters from respective shows. Yes, we understand that both the shows lie on the opposite spectrum of their tone, conflicts, subject, and characters. Then why are pulling off such a far-fetched comparison?
Highlights —
- Witty Pinkman from Breaking bad or wittiest Jake from Brooklyn 99?
- Pinkman, and his love for Science and Bit**es.
- Jake, the detective with many names.
Well, what brings these two greatest TV shows together are the two wittiest characters on Television, Jesse Pinkman and Jake Rabbit (Ops!). Both the characters leave no hook without flicking their witty and funny philosophies and acts. Thus, we want to know who does it better as per you.
Witty Pinkman from Breaking bad or wittiest Jake from Brooklyn 99?
AMC’s Breaking Bad is often regarded as the greatest tv show ever made. But formerly Fox’s and currently NBC’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine is no short of a sitcom gem. Both the shows are literally stuffed with interesting characters and actors portraying them.
Two of such marvel characters are Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) from Breaking Bad and Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) from Brooklyn 99. While Pinkman is the second lead, but the best character in BB, Jake is the main protagonist in B99.

Both the characters have their own ways of doing things, which very often makes us, and their co-characters, stop and look at them for a moment. Thus, this idea came to us to bring them head to head and have them figure out ways to make us laugh.
Pinkman, and his love for Science and Bit**es.
“Yeah Mr. White! Yeah Science.”
Just like Jake is a great detective in Brooklyn 99, Pinkman is such a bright science student (obvious pun intended), ask Breaking Bad fans. There’s not a single moment where he misses applying his science. He often impresses his former chemistry teacher and partner Walter White (Bryan Cranston). And the same love goes for ‘B’ word. There are so many scientific puns and sophisticated bit**es that tickle Pinkman fans.

Remember when Jesse revealed his science understanding for the first time? When in the first season of the show, Walt tells Jesse they are going to use some other chemical at the place of pseudoephedrine to create Meth, and Jesse excitedly exclaims, “Yeah Mr. White! Yeah Science.”
Oh, this one is so iconic! Remember when Walt and Jesse were inches close to getting caught by Hank in Season 3 episode “Sunset”? Both were trapped inside their RV in Joe’s Junkyard, and Hank was trying to break in. And then on Walt’s instruction, Jesse states, “This is my own private domicile, and I will not be harassed.”, and just on the safer side, Jesse throws a quick “Bi**h” in that as well.
Even Jesse’s voicemail tone can throw some humour at times. When Skyler was unknown of Walt’s Meth experiments and was being suspicious of his behaviour, she redials a number Walt just hung upon. As she dials, she hears a voicemail alert that says, “Yo, yo, yo. 148, 3-to-the-3-to-the-6-to-the-9. Representin’ the ABQ. What up, b****? Leave it at the tone!” Turns out it was Pinkman, and ohh, the reaction of Skyler had us rolling on the floor.
Jake, the detective with many names.
Only one man can compete with Pinkman of Breaking Bad, and that’s Jake of Brooklyn 99. Not only compete, but there are instances where he has simply won.
When it comes to Jake Pera…o,h wait – to Jake Hammer, oh, no – to Jake-in-the-Box, oh! You see, how hard it is. Jake is probably the only detective in this universe with so many nicknames, or disguised names. And all of them are as funny as we expect them to be. Here are some of them:
- Meep Morp
- Detective Right-All-The-Time
- Jake Rabbit
- Joke Peralta
- Pineapples
- Captain Spike Masters
- Bitch Boy, Beef Baby,
Ah! And the names go on.
And when it comes to Jake Peralta, you don’t even need to know the context, his witty responses are enough.
One of his Season 1 quotes is:
“We are very close, Captain. Aside from a complete absence of evidence, suspects, or leads. So, in conclusion, not at all close.”
In one of the quotes from the episode “The Vulture”, Rosa says: Come on, Peralta! Holt said to use the whole team. We all want this solved.
To which Jake replies: “I appreciate the offer, but I work best alone. Except when it comes to sex. Actually, sometimes including sex.”
Now, that’s how you keep your privacy.
