Seventeen years since its finale, a reboot for the show was finally announced. Fans are now wondering which actress will lead the series as Buffy. Read on to know more.
The five actresses who are on the list
1. Tati Gabrielle
Having started her career at the age of 18 as Keating in the 2014 short film To Stay the Sword, the young actress caught everyone’s attention after being cast as Wackie Jackie in Disney Channel’s K.C. Undercover, and later also starred in a Nickelodeon TV show.
These roles got the best of her, that eventually helped her secure her first recurring role as Gaia in The CW apocalyptic drama The 100. Following this success, Gabrielle found herself landing a role in Netflix original series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
The actress is young, beautiful, utterly fierce, and unconditionally perfect for Buffy.
2. Tessa Thompson
The MCU actress has been critically acclaimed for her breakthrough roles in films like Mississippi Damned, Thor: Ragnarok, Selma and For Colored Girls, whichmakes her entitled to a spot on the list.

Having acted in 34 films, 24 TV shows and 6 music videos, the actress has a great repertoire of skills that would, without a doubt, work in her favor to be an equally deserving contender.
3. Zoey Deutch
Another Disney star turned Hollywood actress, Zoey Deutch has been the movie business since 2010. And if there’s anything that puts her in this precious list, it would be her accomplishments inside and outside the film industry.

The bold and beautiful 25 year old was last seen in the Netflix comedy series, The Politician, and if everything goes well, could be seen as the new slayer.
4. Joey King
The Kissing Booth actress is no stranger to playing roles of a teenager with a strong moral compass, a hopeless romantic but also independent and protective of herself and her family.
Don’t these traits sound similar to Buffy’s characteristics? Joey King has been around for a long time, and with the kind of experience and talent she has, considering King as the teen slayer could bring more attention to the upcoming, highly anticipated reboot.
5. Lana Condor
Whether it was her role as Jubilee in the2016 superhero film X-Men Apocalypse or the sweet hopeless romantic Lara Jean Covey in the Netflix film series To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, the Vietnamese-American actress has a huge fan base eagerly waiting for her next venture.
The network and fans are certain that Condor is as good a pick to recreate the character of Buffy
