Ed Helms has made a bold statement about ‘The Hangover’ 4. Let’s find out if pessimism will take over the hope to see the gang back.
Todd Phillips’ ‘The Hangover’, brought to us in the summer of 2009 was one of the most iconic and hilarious comedies of the last decade. The R-rated comedy of all-time became the highest-grossing raunchy comedy– until Deadpool surpassed it. ‘The Hangover’ franchise further expanded with two other films to form a trilogy and the chapter was seemingly closed. Just like any movie or TV show with a huge fanbase, there is an obvious question of a reboot or a continuation.

Ed Helms has made a bold statement about ‘The Hangover’ 4. Let’s find out if pessimism will take over the hope to see the gang back.
Is Ed Helms correct about Hangover 4?
Ed Helms, one of the trilogy’s stars, evaluated the chances of a Hangover 4 in a recent interview and claimed that the reboot is just impossible. “I would say the chances are between 0 and 0.” Though he seems pessimistic, let’s find out if there’s a bleak chance of the reboot of ‘The Hangover’ for the fourth segment.

Ed Helms told CinePop that three films is a lot of time to spend playing only one role and becoming known for simply one thing. It seems like the actor wants to broaden his comedic offerings beyond the Stu character that he played in ‘The Hangover’. He wants to pursue other acting opportunities that are not comedies, like his recent turn in Chappaquiddick.
Not everyone from the cast of ‘The Hangover’ thinks like Ed Helms. His co-star, Zach Galifianakis has expressed a wish that ‘The Hangover’franchise should produce part 4. The raunchy comedy made these actors popular among masses, but now they have each moved on to new chapters in their careers.
Is ‘The Hangover’ 4 dead?
‘The Hangover’ franchise saw diminishing returns, fan enthusiasm and critical reception, which is an unavoidable fact. It went on with three segments ultimately limping to the finish line. The first segment of ‘The Hangover’ was enjoyed by masses in theaters. It drove it to unprecedented success, but the sequel films relied too much on the original formula. They were unable to quite catch that lightning in a bottle success. Similar to some other franchises, the sequels are not remembered as fondly, though ‘The Hangover’ is still viewed as a comedy classic among the audiences.
The idea of ‘The Hangover’ reboot seems a bit premature, especially this close to the final film in the trilogy. ‘The Hangover’ Part III came just 5 years ago, it is hard to imagine a reboot this early. Even if the reboot is made, it won’t be a formal Hangover 4, according to Ed Helms.
