Do you think it’s possible that Walter White is already out in the world and cooking meth while Saul Goodman is dealing with Lalo in Better Call Saul Season 5? We think he is out there already.
Better Call Saul fans experienced the show’s one of best episodes in the form of its Season 5 finale. With a gut-wrenching attempt by Gus Fring and Nacho Varga to kill Lalo, and Lalo escaping with intentions of taking revenge, the Season 5 of Better Call Saul ended on the note increasing tension and hyping up the stakes for the probable final season i.e. Season 6.
However, one of the questions that keep popping up every now and then in Better Call Saul is about the meeting of the show’s story with the one of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman. Our theory says that you can wait for them to introduce themselves, but Walter White and Jesse has already begun cooking meth as of the Better Call Saul Season 5’s end.

We think Walter White is already cooking as of Better Call Saul Season 5 finale.
Better Call Saul is the prequel and Spin-off to Breaking Bad. Though Breaking Bad was one of the greatest shows ever made, Better Call Saul has also not left any stones unturned to match that craft of story-telling. While being a show and a story of its own, Better Call Saul has also enriched the Breaking Bad storyline by giving many key characters more depth and more background.
Till now, as of Better Call Saul Season 5, we have seen Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk), Mike (Jonathan Banks), Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito), Hank (Dean Norris), Don Eladio (Mark Margolis), Tuko Salamanca (Raymond Cruz), and a couple of other key characters from Breaking Bad getting introduced in the universe through the prequel.
However, there’s no trace of two main characters who were the driving force of Breaking Bad. Yes, we are talking about Walt and Jesse. If our guess is right, we think that Walter and Jesse have already begun as of the Better Call Saul Season 5.
There can’t be so much of Time Gap.
We don’t know how much time has exactly passed between the days of Jim’s struggle in the first season of Better Call Saul, and the days of Saul’s struggle in the 5th Season.

But looking at the transition in the settings, and the slow transformation of Better Call Saul’s world into Breaking Bad world with the involvement of cartel and Gus Fring, and the whole Meth selling storyline taking centre stage proves that we are closer to Breaking Bad than it seems. Gus Fring’s Drug lab in the basement of Laundromat is almost ready.
Mike is fully involved with Gus. And there’s only one more season to Better Call Saul. So we don’t think there’s much time gap between Better Call Saul Season 5 and the beginning of Breaking Bad. Instead, we think the Breaking Bad heroes Walter White and Jesse Pinkman have already begun their struggle in the world of Better Call Saul Season 5.
How long before Breaking Bad Season 2 Episode 8 “Better Call Saul”?
Breaking Bad Season 2 Episode 8 introduced Saul Goodman to Walter and Jesse. The episode itself was named “Better Call Saul.” Now, one key scene in the episode was when Walt and Jesse threaten Saul and he screams “It wasn’t me. It was Nacho”. He further asks Jesse “Lalo didn’t send you?”.
This tells us that Saul was expecting Lalo to attack him, and he tried to explain to them whatever happened was Nacho’s fault not him. This seems to be directly referring to the events of Better Call Saul Season 5. When Saul and Kim are threatened by Lalo Salamanca.
We don’t see Saul receiving threats from Lalo for 3 or 4 years. And we don’t see Saul staying threatened by Lalo for long after Season 5. This tells us that the events of Breaking Bad Season 2 Episode 8 aren’t too far away in show’s timeline.
The nature of Saul’s reaction shows that it was just in a few weeks after Lalo’s threat. Thus, Walter White may be already out there, cooking his meth as Saul is being threatened by Lalo in Better Call Saul season 5.
