The Big Bang Theory ended their 12-year run last year by airing season 12 finale episode
It did bring tears of delight when Shamy (Sheldon and Amy) got their well deserved Nobel Prize. Sheldon, in the most unlikely manner, finally, gave his friends the credit they long deserved.
It came straight from the Nobel Ceremony, so we can consider forgiving him for being rude to his gang all these years. Yes, they even fixed the elevator after 12 years of running gag. No doubt, it was one big-bang finale filled with closure but some of the questions still remain to be answered. If you didn’t notice amidst wiping tears and bidding farewell, we have compiled 5 questions that will remain unanswered forever.

1.The curious case of pregnant Penny
Penny what? Penny “Hofstadter”, of course. And the makers thought this would do. The Big Bang Theory has exited the TV scene and we are still wondering what Penny’s maiden name is. Hofstadter is the last name that she got when she married Leonard. And to our astonishment, the makers have put the blame of not naming, on the audience. We hyped this issue and they could not drop any surname that could match our expectations. So poor Penny was deprived of her maiden name.
We could still live with nameless Penny, buton grand finale night Penny did some something that has unsettled us forever. Why was she happy being pregnant? Before you judge me for being a moron for getting all surprised at “happy” pregnant Penny. Any would-be-mother would be happy. But she’s Penny who resisted the idea of a child. But then on finale episode, she is shown suddenly happy bearing a child.

This inexplicable happy ending for Penny has not gone too well with some section of the audience. She was flag bearer of modern women. She could have contemplated abortion as one option. Maybe showmakers were running out of time or did not want to land in controversy at the last moment. Time was not ripe after anti-abortion emotions running high in the USA. After all, the all-big-minds show was never mindful of keeping up with modern times. The show was regressive in projecting her as dumb only because she is blonde and beautiful.

2. Why is Sheldon the way he is?
The show never bothered to explain why is Sheldon the way he is. There must be some big-bang-theory for his socially awkward behavior. Was he on the autism spectrum as everyone thought? We wanted an explicit addressing of Sheldon’s case as he is the lead character.

But now the show has called it a day and nobody but Sheldon aka Jim Parsons has to be blamed. It was he, who lost the drive to work in season 13 of Big Bang Theory. But seems like, the spin-off Young Sheldon will quench our thirst for answers.
3. Howard’s tale has no end
If there is anyone who can claim maximum injustice, he is Howard. A string of unanswered questions falls in his kitty. Will Howard and Bernadette continue as husband and wife? We have sensed the cracks in their wedding life in the last few episodes. It might be temporary due to intense stress in raising kids. Before we could ever see them going stronger in their relation, the show decided to end, leaving us pondering.
The unresolved mystery of Howard’s Dad, the letter. The episode was “The Closet Reconfiguration”, where Howard received a letter from his father only to be opened when he turns 18. He decided against it and burned the letter. We, along with Howard will never find out the content of the letter. With this, we’ll never know who his father was. Sheldon knew the gang knew. Hard luck Howard.
Will Howard get his Ph.D.? Having the only a master’s in the sea of geeks always puts him at the receiving end of Sheldon’s jokes. He did decide to get it, though he is a successful engineer (even went to space). Like all Howard’s stories, his Ph.D. narrative also went nowhere. We wanted him to, once and for all, bang his Ph.D. degree on Sheldon’s mighty head.

4. Who are Leonard’s super successful siblings?
Our heart went to Leonard whenever his mother routinely shamed him for being nothing in front of his Cutting-edge medical researcher sister and Harvard law professor brother. Strangely they never appeared in the show, not even for once. We will never get to know if all that taunting by psychiatrist mom was for real or a trap to analyze Leo’s mind. We along with Leo can never spew our anger on super successful siblings.
5. Will romantic Raj ever find love of his life?
Last, but certainly not the least, the most romantic of all, Mr. Rajend up alone only to be comforted by his good old fluffy pooch Cinnamon. The writers of The Big Bang Theory left him alone and dry. After all, he had gone through he deserves a lady love with whom he can settle.

The finale episode did give him a date in “already married” Sarah Michelle Geller. The showmakers did not want everyone to settle for vows so Raj was made the scapegoat. Not fair on their part. This leaves Raj and us hanging in despair forever.
The reboot of all geeky comedy is a distant dream. Looks like we have to settle with unsettling questions till eternity. God save our minds from Big Bang Explosion!
