Had MCU and Sony Pictures not ended their feud, could there have been a nearly good replacement for Spider-Man in MCU?
The relationship between the entertainment giants Marvel and Sony Pictures had taken a hit for a brief time last year. Yes, the fandom was freaking out. How could it not? The fate of Spider Man rested on it. However, the feud ended and together they resolved to co-produce the third instalment of “Spider-Man” film which is scheduled to hit theatres on July 16, 2021.
Well, I am grateful that these two teamed up eventually. However, the events following the feud were crazy and downright scary for the fans of Tom Holland. What’s even there not to love about this cute British boy! Speaking of, Disney (Marvel’s parent company) and Sony had,a few years ago, shared the rights to a few Spider-Man movies in future. With a fallout between the two, it was a possibility that Tom Holland might not be starring as the alias in MCU. Remember the keyword – “might”.
WHAT DID IT MEAN?
Well, to clarify what it meant, Sony would have had all the rights over the character and Tom Holland would not have been a part of MCU anymore. Yes, he would have continued with the standalone Spider-Man movie. The negotiation was done and as I pointed out, they are now co-producing the upcoming movie together. Thank God!
IF NOT TOM HOLLAND, THEN WHO?
Let us enter a shit scary alternate reality just once. Had this feud not ended, who do you think would have replaced Tom Holland in MCU? Well, for starters, it is almost impossible for me to think along those lines because the kid has been the perfect Spider Man, in my opinion. The subtle blend of geeky, nerdy, cute, and badass is what makes him the right Spider-Man all along.
But for one second, let us think of the possibility of replacement. Bear with me; I know it’s hard. Here are a few heroes that I could think of.
Well, she is a Wakandian badass and deserves much more time on-screen than she was given. The fans loved her and she kind of resembles Peter Parker in a few of her personality traits. Of course, her technical brilliance would be an added perk.
2. Ms Marvel
Kamla Khan is all set to make her live-action debut. It is true that she would be present in many crossovers including Captain Marvel and the rest of the Avengers in future. How about her being the replacement for Parker. The girl is young and a badass for sure.
3. Amadeus Cho
The perfect replacement of Peter would be someone witty, smart, funny, and reliable. Who better than Amadeus Cho? The kid literally recreated hulk with an upgrade in the comic. He could control the monster. As long as the viewers are okay with a Hulk more than one, he could be a wonderful choice to fill Peter’s absence.
Finally, the best possible replacement of Parker could be Riri Williams. She has been blessed by Tony Stark in the comics and designs her own friggin suits. The young girl could fit in just as quick as Peter did in MCU.
Well, these were a few characters that I thought could fill in Peter’s absence. However, there ain’t no replacing him ever.
