In the world of supernatural men, we are mere mortals wondering who the next Damon Salvatore could be. But is there any reason to look further than the Devil himself? Let’s weigh in if Tom Ellis is the next bad boy of the vampire world.
In the television world of mysterious celestial beings, some men stand out from the rest. The standing out is effortless, appreciated, and wildly sought after, we dare say. In this instance, for example, the celestial men in question are Damon Salvatore and Lucifer. The supernatural characters portrayed by two equally handsome men, Ian Somerhalder and Tom Ellis, had the audience hooked from the second they appeared on their screens. But the actors, much like the characters they played, have so much in common that it begs us to ask-
Can Tom Ellis pull of Damon Salvatore? Or is replacing Ian Somerhalder in his iconic role unthinkable?

Tom Ellis: Hot or not?
When ‘The Vampire Diaries’ broke into the scene, few escaped its charm, all thanks to Ian Somerhalder playing the smirky, sometimes good but always a bad vampire. The fans crowned the vampire as the hottest male alive, and Ian Somerhalder never did disappoint.
Well, asking if Tom Ellis can be considered hot is like asking if Tom Ellis plays Lucifer. The answer is obvious, and only yes. Throughout the five seasons of ‘Lucifer’, Ellis has been effortlessly charming, strikingly handsome, and perceived evil just like Damon, all with the perfect six-pack abs.
So, in the looks department,
Tom Ellis can be the next Damon Salvatore any day ‘The Vampire Diaries’ decides to make a comeback.
But what else does the effervescent Damon Salvatore have to his name?
Fitness, Fitness, Fitness: Damon’s mantra to live by
The character, some hundred years old, has kept his fitness regime in check, that’s for sure. The immortal being did not let hundreds of years of his existence get to him and maintained his next-to-perfect body, which won him fans all over the world.
But Ellis is no stranger to fitness. If Ellis took over the role of Damon, there is hardly anyone that would complain about his lack of fitness. We’re not pitting the two against each other, because aren’t both of them perfect?
But, if a remake of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ ever came to fruition, we knew who we’d want as the next elder Salvatore.
They like their drinks, and with style
We could say that Lucifer has a reason for always having a drink in his hand; he does own a nightclub, and Damon loves a drink. So, just picture Ellis in the old, ancestral house of the Salvatores, quietly sipping away his whiskey.
And, to add to the similarities, both the troubled immortal souls are in love with a human. So, in the near future, and we are sure that day will come, when ‘The Vampire Diaries’ is ready for a remake, we can’t think of an actor better suited for the role of Damon, than the Devil himself, aka Tom Ellis.
After all, “I’m the bad guy” seems to be the mantra these men live by, and yet, we’d place our bets saying they really aren’t. Do you think Tom Ellis could play Damon? Do you think he should? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
