After 15 seasons, Sam and Dean Winchester’s journey in ‘Supernatural’ might be over, but that doesn’t mean the franchise has to end too! Its soaring popularity can spawn multiple ‘Supernatural’ spin-offs, and here are some we’re rooting for.
One of the longest-running television series in history, ‘Supernatural’ introduced viewers to the world of the Winchester brothers. Sam and Dean travelled across America in their infamous 1967 Chevy Impala, hunting ghosts, vampires, werewolves, and combating paranormal events.

- Castiel
The sci-fi horror series was inspired by urban legends and folklore and had a successful 15-season run. ‘Supernatural’ came to an end this year, but spin-offs are always an option!
The show has already attempted working on two spin-offs, ‘Bloodlines’ and ‘Wayward Sisters’, but they didn’t move past the pilot stage. Now, the original series has ended and its popularity is at an all-time high, so the showrunners have plenty of time to ponder over ‘Supernatural’ spin-offs! Keep reading to learn more about 4 characters from the show, whose stories would make for an epic spin-off!

John Winchester
The head of the Winchester family has a lot more stories to tell than you’d imagine. John Winchester didn’t have an easy life, whether it was during his time as a soldier in Vietnam or his time as a hunter.
He dedicated his life to hunting the supernatural after his wife Mary was murdered by the Prince of Hell, Azazel. He accumulated a vast knowledge of the paranormal world and recorded the events in his journal. Eventually, the journal became his most prized possession and helped Sam and Dean in their demon-hunting endeavour too.
We bet Winchester Sr. has tales that would make for an incredibly compelling ‘Supernatural’ spin-off. We’d love to know what he had been doing, at the time when his sons were busy hunting! His story would also make an equally great prequel series, that could give viewers more insight into his life as a hunter.

Jody Mills
If you haven’t heard about ‘Wayward Sisters’ yet, you’re in for a treat! ‘Supernatural’ will always be a Sam and Dean show, but who can say no to a female-centric storyline with the uber-cool Sheriff Jody Mills?
Series creator Erick Kripe’s team initially drafted a ‘Supernatural’ spin-off featuring Mills, who first appeared in season 5 of the series. She has been a long-standing ally of the Winchesters, and even went to become a fan-favourite.
The show was originally set to tell the story of Jody Mills, who lost her family, her husband and son to zombies. She’d train a young group of women who like her, had been orphaned by supernatural attacks. The series would chronicle the events that would follow Mills’ monster-fighting warriors. The CW cancelled the series before it could see the light of day because they believed that ‘The Originals‘ spin-off ‘Legacies‘ had the potential to be more successful. It’s not too late yet, and fans still hope the network can reconsider their decision!

Gabriel aka Loki (The Trickster)
Gabriel aka Loki or Trickster is an archangel who fled to Earth thousands of years prior to the beginning of ‘Supernatural’s’ story. Of all supernatural beings in the show, Gabriel is the most interesting one because he always finds a way to come back, even after dying!
He manages to marvellously trick everyone into believing that he is dead, and he has done it several times! Gabriel is sarcastic, but he also holds humans in high regard, something that no other Archangel ever did.
The series has revealed the character to be dead, but a prequel story or one that follows his life as the Archangel-turned-trickster would make a brilliant watch.Watching him trick his way through humans while leading a fun life could be super interesting!
4/4
Castiel
Castiel has been crucial to ‘Supernatural’s’ story ever since he appeared in season 4. The series heartbreakingly ended his character arc when he sacrificed himself for Dean, leaving his fans in dismay.
A ‘Supernatural’ spin-off surrounding Castiel’s character, and his life experiences prior to meeting the Winchesters, would certainly make waves! He’s an angel, but he makes the most humane mistakes while delivering some seriously amazing insults.
His character is loved dearly by fans of the show, and now more than ever, since his unexpected demise. A spin-off show which is primarily based on Castiel can’t be a bad idea at a time when fans want to see justice served to the character more than ever.
Which character from the series would you love to see return in a ‘Supernatural’ spin-off? Let us know in the comments.
