What can we expect from the reboot? Who will star in it? And who won’t? When will the series air? There are a lot of burning questions at the moment so let’s get through them one by one.
When will Saved by The Bell reboot air?
So, when exactly will fans of Saved by the Bell finally get to watch the revival of original Bayside High gang? Well, as per reports, the reboot will debut once NBC Universal has launched their upcoming streaming service Peacock.
The streaming service will likely be launched sometime after Peacock becomes available to everyone on July 15, 2020. In addition, we would like to bring this to your attention that production for the title halted in March due to the on-going pandemic.
Who will star in the reboot?
Who can imagine a reboot without at least some of the original cast members? After all, they are the ones that made the original series so successful.
So, one person who’s making a comeback for sure in the reboot is Mario Lopez. In addition, there is Elizabeth Berkley. To express her excitement of becoming a part of the reboot, she posted about it on her Instagram account.
Where did the original show leave?
It has been some time since Saved by the Bell last aired on the small screen, concluding a majority of the main characters’ storylines with the television movie Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas.
The film starred all of the original cast members, including Elizabeth Berkley as Jessie Spano, Mark-Paul Gosselaar who played Zack Morris, Tiffani Thiessen (previously known as Tiffani-Amber Thiessen) shown as Kelly Kapowski, Mario Lopez as A.C. Slater, Dustin Diamond as Samuel “Screech” Powers, and Lark Voorhies as Lisa Turtle.

By the end of the film, we see Zack and Kelly finally tie the knot, while Slater, who dated Jessie for the major chunk of the original series, is paired off with a woman named Carla.
In the film, Jessie makes a brief appearance at the end as she couldn’t miss the wedding, while Screech serves as Zack’s best man, and finally Lisa serves as a bridesmaid for Kelly along with Jessie, presumably having time off from FIT.
What will the reboot be about?
The Saved by the Bell reboot plot depends on Mark-Paul Gosselaar’s character Zack Morris’ actions. In the show, Zack is the governor of California who has found himself in the middle of a political scandal for closing too many low-income schools.
In order to rectify the situation, he decides to send the students of these schools to the highest-performing schools in the state, which includes Bayside High School. This in turn will result in a reality check for the rich kids at Bayside, which we expect will play out in some pretty amusing ways.
In addition to the central plot, reports suggest that Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley who will return to their roles of A.C. Slater and Jessie Spano, respectively, will be parents.
Until now, not much has been revealed about the reboot yet but we can’t wait to know more. We’ll share with you as and when the updates come; so keep an eye on this space for more.
