Every team is incomplete without its captain. The Avengers, the team of greatest superheroes on earth, is also incomplete without It’s Captain. But not anymore. Yes, the claims that there are two Captain Americas in MCU might mean the return of Steve Rogers to the team.
The scene was secretly satisfying yet quite disturbing when we saw Captain America appearing as an old retired grandpa at the end of the “Avengers Endgame”. After the Avengers and all superheroes saved the world in Endgame, Captain America aka Steve Rogers took on himself to go back in time and set things right by returning all the infinity stones at their original position. However, he didn’t come back as expected.
He stayed back in time and had spent many quality nights with Peggy while growing old. When Captain America appeared as an old Captain America in Endgame, all his fans realized that this is the end of Steve’s journey as Captain America, that this is the moment when their favourite Avenger is going to retire from the team and his duties.
But you all might be wrong. Yes, Chris Evans might return as Captain America in MCU. No, not by using some serum to become young again, but because there are two Captain Americas.

Throughout all the events, there was one Captain America who fought and one who watched it, who knew everything as he knew the future. Now, these theories might be accurate or might be a total messy understanding of Marvel’s time travel phenomenon. However, regardless of what the theories say, we should listen to what one of the movie’s writers, Cristopher Markus, has to say about the existence of two Captain Americas in MCU.
Two Captain Americas in MCU – What the Writer of Endgame says?
Christopher Markus, one of the film’s writers, had admitted that the possibility of two Captain Americas existing in one Marvel Cinematic Universe isn’t all that wild. He said that there might be some phenomenon in that whole complicated scenario that might result in something like two Steve Rogers being present.
He said — “I would like to believe that through some sort of bulls**t time loop paradox — throw in the words you use when you’re bulls***ting science in a movie: ‘some sort of quantum paradox’ — that there are indeed two Captain Americas in the MCU timeline,”
he had said during San Diego Comic-Con last year. — “That Steve Rogers who looped back into time has therefore always been there, and that he is living somewhere else in the movies you’re watching.”
Now, as per this statement by Markus, it’s totally possible that two Steve Rogers exists in MCU. Though he didn’t confirm anything, what he meant was that everything is possible through a certain amount of manipulation with science in movies.
Will Chris Evans be back in MCU as Captain America?
Now that we know about the possibility of Captain America returning in MCU due to two Captain Americas in MCU theory, the question remains about the comeback of Chris Evans as Captain America. With the retirement of Captain America in Endgame, the contract of Chris Evans to play Steve Rogers also ended. But the actor has hinted towards the possibility of his return if ever needed.
Chris Evans said in an interview, “You never say never. I love the character. I don’t know. It’s not a hard no, but it’s not an eager yes either.”
The actor didn’t say if he’ll be back for sure, as it’s not in his hands, however, he did admit that he’ll come back as Captain America in MCU id needed. Now, if the two Captain Americas in MCU theory is true, then we might see Chris Evans in Captain America’s costume again.
