It is the story of a solo gunfighter as he navigates his way across the adventures in the outer galaxy, away from the power of the New Republic. The show took the viewers back to the Star Wars universe and of course that would have been incomplete without a Baby Yoda.
Anticipation for season 2 release of The Mandalorian is as intense as our itch to spill the beans on the Baby Yoda secret.
Show-runners discuss keeping Baby Yoda a secret
Season 1 of The Mandalorian was a success as far as the ratings go but what’s even more exciting was “the biggest star in the universe.” We are talking about The Child aka Baby Yoda! Director Robert Rodriguez broke the internet a day after Star Wars Day, when he posted a behind the scenes shot with Baby Yoda on his Instagram handle saying, “I am truly humbled to say I have now had the very rare privilege of directing the biggest star in the universe.”
Fans have had hard time keeping calm after seeing cute little Baby Yoda and we can only imagine how hard it might have been for the show-runners to have kept it a secret. Talking to a panel at the ATX Television Festival, Favreau admitted that keeping Baby Yoda a secret was tough with the presence of director Bryce Dallas Howard’s children on set almost every day.
He said, “What a miracle that with all the kids on the set and how fixated they were, that the secret never came out that the baby was in the series at all. It was a real testament to Bryce that somehow she got her kids not to tell every single person they’d ever met about meeting him.”
Turns out Howard had to put a “whole ritual” in place in order to keep her children from spilling the beans. Howard said speaking at the same panel, “I would remind my kids every day once they were going to school, ‘What do we not talk about? Baby!’”
The release of The Mandalorian season 2 will definitely show Baby Yoda as a part of it, but who else will be in it?
Cast of The Mandalorian season 2
Well, if you don’t know it yet, we’re here to tell you that season 2 will have an amazing cast for The Mandalorian. Obviously, Pedro Pascal, Giancarlo Esposito, Nick Nolte, Gina Carano and Werner Herzog will be a part of it along with Baby Yoda. The surprise is that Carl Weathers will not only be in the season, he has also directed one of the episodes.
According to Digital Spy, Favreau said, “Carl wasn’t supposed to be in the whole show…He was gonna be in full prosthetics, as a different alien race, and then we switched it up. It was a favour. I said, ‘Come in and do this one thing.’ He says, ‘Fine, I don’t really act much more, but fine.’ Carl’s supposed to come in, he’s going to be in 101 and then 103, he gets shot, he’s out.”
Temuera Morrison will play Bobba Fett in season 2 and Katee Sackhoff will come back as her ‘Clone Wars’ character, Bo Katan Kryze. Speaking of ‘Clone Wars’, Rosario Dawson will appear in the second season as Ahsoka Tano. Michael Biehn will be introduced as a bounty hunter in season 2.
This cast assemble is every Star Wars and sci-fi fan’s dream come true while waiting for season 2 of The Mandalorian to release is getting very difficult.
