At that time ABC was running a successful series with Agents of Shield and marvel decided that the place is the right medium for some of the smaller properties reportedly Marvel developed the package for a 60-episode television series to Netflix, Amazon, and WGN America.
Disney and Marvel announced that Netflix would be showcasing a new Daredevil series based on the character starring Charlie Cox. The daily show first year in 2016 which was followed by Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, along with the mini-series called the defenders.
