Unfortunately, Sony’s years with Daredevil didn’t last long and in 2000 marvel and Sony could not agree on the internet price and Sony cancel the project. New Regency negotiated with Marvel and the devil characters’ right to produce live-action Daredevil movie The Fox handled the distribution.
At that time ABC was running a successful series with Agents of Shield and marvel decided that the place is the right medium for some of the smaller properties reportedly Marvel developed the package for a 60-episode television series to Netflix, Amazon, and WGN America.
Disney and Marvel announced that Netflix would be showcasing a new Daredevil series based on the character starring Charlie Cox. The daily show first year in 2016 which was followed by Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, along with the mini-series called the defenders. The show was critically appraised and reportedly had heavy fan worship.
The MCU actor showed up there were plenty of movie references including the battle in New York and Avengers but sadly it was announced this year the Daredevil and Luke Cage were cancelled with Jessica Jones and the punisher in Limbo stop the cast and crew who were hard at work on the next season of Daredevil went to full stop, for now, Netflix still has a character rights of the same until Locke and key but with the show being cancelled, it’s only a matter of time before Daredevil and his friends are showing up in the MCU again!
