NBC will remove the popular show from Netflix after the contract expires
‘The Office’ is probably one of the best comedy shows of all times. It has benefitted many streaming platforms. But now NBC is planning to be the sole earner from its show. For this, NBC is going to take off the show as soon as its contract expires with Netflix. That is, in January 2021. After this, NBC will let the audience stream ‘The Office’ on their new streaming service which is all set to launch in 2020. Besides, it will become an exclusive deal for five years!
This decision to remove ‘The Office’ was announced on Tuesday. NBC’s new streaming service is ad-sponsored. While it will be free for its pay-TV subscribers, the cord-cutters will have to pay about $10 a month.
Netflix will surely be in grief. After all, ‘The Office’ was its most-watched show of 2018.
