2020’s ‘The Grudge’ reboot movie has its origins in the Japanese film ‘Ju-On: The Grudge’. But it is not the first American movie that is inspired by the original 2002 movie. Prior to 2020, there have been one remake and two sequels to the iconic horror flick. With so many movies on the same plot, this reboot was a completely unnecessary step.
Not only was it unnecessary, but also it took a long time to film. Announced in 2014, the movie began filming not before May 2018.
