But Season 4 of The Crown is likely to cover a lot more ground. The backdrop for the series will most likely feature the 80s and 90s which included Iron Lady Margaret Thatcher serving as Britain’s Prime Minister from 1979 to 1990. Other political movements of the era such as the miner’s strike and Falklands War will make for a heavy part in the plotline for The Crown Season 4 as well.
But perhaps the most awaited era and story that the audiences have been waiting since The Crown premiered is of the People’s Princess, Princess Diana.
Princess Diana: A Lady of People For The People
Newcomer Emma Corin has bagged on the chance of a lifetime to play a young Princess of Wales, Diana. Season four of The Crown will definitely see the show cut apart the marriage between Princess Diana and Prince Charles along with their separation.
Their marriage which was a televised event watched by the millions all over the world on July 29, 1981 deserves an episode of it’s own. But what is even more exciting is that the infant versions of Prince William and Prince Harry who will also feature in the show.
The show created by Peter Morgan will cover Lady Diana as she tries to fit in the royal style and goes on to become from an anonymous teenager to one of the most iconic women of the world. Josh O’ Connor who portrays Prince Charles and Emma Corrin will be seen recreating events like Prince Charles and Princess Diana Royal Tour of Australia in 1983, their wedding to name a few.
Now, the ball is in Peter Morgan’s court. It’s something to look forward to. Princess Di as she is fondly known by the public had her own view of what the Royal Family was like. Whose view of point will we get to experience in Crown Season 4?
The Crown: Who Returns For Season 4
Premiering in November or December this year, we will see as per tradition the cast of The Crown returning for a second time. The Academy Award winning Actress Olivia Colman will reprise her role as Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II with Helena Bohman Carter returning as Princess Margaret. Tobias Menzies will return as Prince Phillip and the enigmatic Claire Foy will also be making an appearance.
And as we have been recently informed The Crown will end it’s successful journey with Season 5, it might be time to start preparing ourselves for the final goodbye to the brilliant cast.
