Get over ‘Young Sheldon’; it’s time for “Young Penny”! ‘The Big Bang Theory’ star, Kaley Cuoco might be up for a Penny spin-off.
Seems like ‘The Big Bang Theory’ creators are not yet done with playing spin-off. After ‘Young Sheldon’, chances are that a spin-off on Penny might be right up the sleeves of the show’s creators. Since we are talking Penny, Leonard will assumedly be a part of it as well. Leonard and Penny together back on the screen, the bang could not get any bigger!

Fans are not yet Over ‘The Big Bang Theory’
CBS’ ‘The Big Bang Theory’ made us laugh until our stomachs hurt for 12 seasons, but it seems like the fans want more of where that came from. Soon after the nerdy gang of physicists bid us goodbye as we watched Amy and Sheldon (finally) accept their Nobel, there were already speculations of a spin-off. A spin-off, ‘Young Sheldon’, already exists focusing on the younger years of Sheldon Cooper. It might just be that a spin-off on the life of Penny is next for ‘The Big Bang Theory’.
Penny has always been the neutral ground in the show about nerds and it makes sense that fans would want a spin-off on her character. We know from the show that Penny’s dream was to become a successful actor and the new spin-off could expand on that. ‘The Big Bang Theory’ ended with Leonard and Penny announcing that they are expecting their first child and god knows their children will have the brains and the beauty. Naturally, the fans would love to see more of her journey with Leonard with some back-story of her younger years. In short, with a character as versatile as Penny, there’s a lot to experiment.

The fans of ‘The Big Bang Theory’ have been singing a similar tune in demanding a spin-off on Penny. One fan wrote on “Twitter”, “After watching the finale of The Big Bang Theory I think they need to make a spin off show about Penny and Leonard!” Another fan said in the comments of a “Reddit” discussion, “I think the real spinoff is Penny, Leonard and new baby.” A “Twitter” user requested a look into the younger years of Penny, “@CBS big bang theory spin off of a young penny living at home on her farm pls.”
Kaley Cuoco on ‘The Big Bang Theory’ Spin-Off
Kaley Cuoco’s journey as Penny has been inspired and there’s no way that she wouldn’t want to be a part of a spin-off of ‘The Big Bang Theory’. Speaking of her attachment with Penny, Cuoco told “Entertainment Tonight”, “This is my legacy of this character, on and on… I’m thrilled with [Penny’s] ending, yet beginning. It’s beautiful. There’s not anything catastrophic, it’s just beautiful.”

Big Bang Theory Season 13 Cannot Have Kaley Cuoco For This Reason
Cuoco confirmed our theory that Leonard and Penny would be amazing parents and that a Leonard-Penny spin-off could be adorable. She told “The Hollywood Reporter”, “I think they’re going to be awesome parents. They waited so many years and they’re so fun and easygoing. Or Penny is really kind of easygoing! I think they’d be adorable parents. I can only imagine.” Actor Johnny Galecki, however, has a different opinion on doing a Leonard-Penny spin-off. He said, “No. I don’t want to be too definitive, but then I was in my weird way. I feel like these seven characters share seven different areas of the same brain. We have split them off in every single different division you can and it all works. There’s no two that don’t work together. I don’t think it would be a disaster, but it wouldn’t be Big Bang.”
Well, zero points to Leonard for being a spoilsport. May be he could be kept out and we get to have a spin-off on (young) Penny.
“Penny” Spin-Off on the Way
With Sheldon having his own show, a spin-off for Penny doesn’t seem like a far out dream. Much to our disappointment though, ‘The Big Bang Theory’ isn’t coming up with another spin-off soon. Kaley Cuoco wouldn’t say no to one though. She said, “The only person I would say yes to is [Big Bang creator and executive producer] Chuck Lorre. So if Chuck came and said let’s do it, I’d say yes. Other than that, I don’t see a spin-off for myself. But I don’t like to say no to Chuck. So if he wanted it, I’m in!”
Cheers to that! We wouldn’t want it going in any other way. Would you like to see a spin-off on Penny? Let us know in the comments below!
