Fans love a good laugh
Chuck Lorre has been known for writing, directing and producing one of the best shows on the small screen. Whether it was Two and half men, Dharma and Greg, or our all time favourites Young Sheldon and The Big Bang theory, the showrunner and his team have never failed to crack us up. The two series over the past years have managed to receive a total of 28 awards for various titles.
Young Sheldon and The Big Bang theory in particular have been recognised for being consistently entertaining. But unfortunately, the showrunners have failed to be consistent with the plots and storylines between Young Sheldon and The Big Bang theory. Lucky for fans, Chuck Lorre will clear up the mess in the latest season of TBBT.
The (un)happy Cooper family
This is one of the biggest inconsistencies that left fans puzzled on Chuck Lorre and his team’s decision to show the Cooper family in Young Sheldon as a regular, happy and loving family which in.return is quite contradictory to how Adult Sheldon had always described his family as.
He often told his gang that his parents fought a lot, his father was a raging alcoholic and his mother would cuss on every occasion. However, in Young Sheldon both parents seem to have a healthy marriage with both parents being hardworking and pillars of strength for their kids.
Was his father really a raging alcoholic?
George Sr most definitely enjoyed his beer every now and then, especially after a long day at work. Unlike Sheldon’s opposite description of his dad being a raging alcoholic, Cooper Sr. made his mark as the sweet, hardworking, non-abusive family man.
The inconsistency of showing George Cooper Sr. of a different temperament as opposed to how Sheldon’s friends always knew his father as in TBBT, season 13 will be the complete tell-all of what went down with the Texan man.
Sheldon said he didn’t have any friends
Sheldon wasn’t like most 9-year-old kids who would spend their time watching animation, rolling in mud or playing pranks on their friends. He was rather a sophisticated, quiet and aloof genius who enjoyed his own company.
Tam was one such friend who cannot be missed. He was a good friend to young Sheldon till the very end of the series. While Sheldon initially stated that he did not have any friends growing up, he later clarified that he sort of blocked out their friendship after Tam moved away. While this solves the inconsistency, there is more room for writers to dig into this long lost friendship.
He doesn’t always knock
Sheldon’ signature ‘three times knock‘ has always been the highlight of TBBT. It is believed that Sheldon began knocking because of an incident during his childhood, where he happened to run into his parents’ room and witnessed an unseen ‘activity’. No such incident has been spoken of in the prequel.
Meanwhile, fans noticed how Sheldon did not always knock on the parent show. The cautious cat, ditched the act in the fifth episode of the first season which was a major inconsistency that was created. Perhaps, this could’ve sorted out too.
Season 13 confirmation and release date update
Due to the long prolonged pandemic, it is uncertain on when the showrunners will greenlit season 13 and confirm the release date for the same. Fans can only hope that everything works in their favor, their desire for a new season comes true, and everyone begins filiming post lockdown.
