Until now, the show has hooked its audiences with a total number of 279 episodes airing on CBS. The first time we met Sheldon Cooper was in 2007 when Sheldon was a naive boy.
Over the course of 12 years, we’ve seen Sheldon meeting Amy Farrah Fowler and ultimately marrying her. We’ve witnessed the wannabe Howard Wolowitz find the love of his life to eventually having two babies with her.
In fact, we’ve even seen much of Leonard and Penny’s love story brew from a ‘no kids at all’ phase to Penny announcing that she was pregnant in the final season of the Big Bang Theory.

Yes, it’s happening! A Big Bang Theory Reboot
Remember Penny, the next-door-neighbour? Well, played by Kaley Cuoco, the actress is still in the run for a Big Bang Theory reboot. Kaley revealed her thoughts at the Golden Globes which took place in January this year.
Sharing her thoughts as the Big Bang Theory drew to an end with Season 12, Kaley said:
I don’t want to leave. I’ve said it. Everybody’s doing rebooting. (She told Entertainment Tonight)
The actress gave a big piece of cake away to the fans saying, “We might as well do it in like a year. I’m fine with that”.

Mark Backs Cuoco’s claim
Adding everything appropriately, Mark Cendrowski, the director of the show has told Forbes that although the series has ended it necessarily needn’t imply that it could not return.
Mark said:
That’s not to say that there may not be something down the line, but I don’t think anyone wanted to jump into the next season or a spin-off immediately.
The director of the show added, “That doesn’t mean that won’t happen and, in a couple of years, maybe it’s a character or a couple of characters that catch up within a couple of years. Who knows if it will happen?”

The OMG moment!
Clearly, Mark is pointing towards a potential season 13 or maybe even a ‘The Big Bang Theory’ spin-off in the near future. Of course, the fans are eager to see the characters reconcile at some point in time and to see TBBT cast reunite. And there are ample of directions they could go in considering the storyline.
Cendrowski added:
There’s plenty to explore with their lives and characters moving forward.
Even though the cast of the show is not confirmed, one character that the show is dry without is Jim Parsons as Sheldon Cooper. Ain’t no show without him. And fans are hoping to catch more and more of Sheldon Cooper’s peculiar mannerisms.
Meanwhile, the show has a spin-off called Young Sheldon that reflects the childhood of Sheldon Cooper in Texas.
Write us in the comment section below about your thoughts on a foreseeable season 13 of The Big Bang Theory on CBS. Do you think CBS is ready for reviving ‘The Big Bang Theory’? We don’t know if TBBT scriptwriters have any direction to move forward yet, but we hope they are already working on one.
Why did ‘The Big Bang Theory’ get cancelled?
The major reason behind the show’s cancellation was Jim Parsons’ decision to leave the show owing to personal reasons. In spite of having planned more seasons, the makers decided to cancel the show following his exit after season 12.
What happened to Sheldon Cooper’s dad?
Sheldon Cooper’s dad died in Sheldon’s teenage years, which was before TBBT started, and so we don’t see him on the show. However, it is mentioned that he died because of “weight-related issues”.
How many times did Penny and Leonard break-up?
Penny and Leonard broke up several times, and Leonard has mentioned that he stopped counting at four. However, since they eventually ended up together and happy, it really doesn’t matter anymore.
