- Howard’s mother – a figment of his imagination

A user from Reddit named Miko-Guy has spotted a glaring discrepancy in facts between The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon. And once you see it, you’ll agree with us.
The Big Bang Theory version
According to the user, Miko-Guy noticed that in the story once narrated by Howard Wolowitz to Raj Koothrappali [in The Big Bang Theory (TBBT)] was contradicted by an episode in its spin-off series Young Sheldon.
The story didn’t quite add up as Howard told Raj in the second season of TBBT that he had safety rails around his bed until he was 17.
The particular segment was played in The Big Bang Theory’s Season 2 Episode 23 titled ‘The Monopolar Expedition’.

The Young Sheldon version
In the finale episode of the second season of Young Sheldon we get a glimpse of Howard’s room. However, in which Howard is approximately ten-years-old then but the safety rails are missing.
And after looking at the video footage as evidence, it seems like the discrepancy in fact is a legitimate one.
Fans sympathetic point of view
Fans’ mixed comments started pouring in making the thread instantly viral. One user wrote, “Given the original show ran for a mammoth 279 episodes, it’s tough to make a prequel show with that much continuity and attention to detail.” Meanwhile, another user commented, “Great eye!”

There were other contrary reactions amid the genuine ones as well. One user wrote, “Knowing the kind of bragger that Howard is, he probably exaggerated about the safety rails.” Whilst another user mentioned, “Almost everything Howard said about his mother did not turn true. He is always exaggerating.”
Howard’s mother – a figment of his imagination
In another fan theory audiences believe Howard’s imagination of his mother is unreal. Some believe that Mrs. Wolowitz never existed and is in fact not even real, to begin with. The fans based their theory upon Howard’s vivid imaginations and strong hallucinations.

Fans accuse him by saying that Howard’s mother could be a figment of his imagination – a Norman Bates kind of figure from Psycho; the one who only hears the voice of his mother in his head.
To this, a user on Reddit wrote, “ He is just crazy and lonely and uses ventriloquism to speak for her.” Whilst another fan said, “Small point here, Howard’s mum doesn’t exist. Period.”
