One might describe Henry Cavill as the perfect man, devoid of any flaws. When he’s not busy being ‘Superman’, he is playing Geralt of Rivia in the hit Netflix series ‘The Witcher’. Both of these roles demand the actor to be extremely fit, ripped, and in the best possible shape a man can be in.

Henry Cavill’s ‘Superman’ look and diet
Believe it or not, but Cavill was an overweight kid and was bullied because of it in his childhood. But getting into movies changed it all for the actor who became very serious about his physique. The ‘Man of Steel’, along with two workouts, has six meals a day.
His meals include a heavy dose of protein, medium but also a fair amount of carbs to get the bulky superhero look. His diet involves egg whites, skim milk, protein pancakes, and chicken breast with plenty of spices and veggies to keep things interesting.
In his own words, he has confessed that it is not easy to keep up with the heavy self-discipline. And after six months of prepping for countless shirtless scenes, the director of the film gifted him a tub of ice-cream and Cavill gifted himself a whole pizza.
But prepping for being the genetically enhanced monster slayer was another level of crazy that Cavill himself didn’t know was coming.
Superman to Monster slayer: Workout and water deficit
If Cavill already wasn’t a household name thanks to his good looks, acting expertise, and ‘Superman’ stint, being Geralt on ‘The Witcher’ really sealed the deal. The British-actor proved he could do just about anything when he was cast as the lead in the show.
But doing anything is not as smooth and effortless as he made it look. For the infamous shirtless bathtub scene in ‘The Witcher’, Cavill revealed that he stopped drinking water. To explain it he said, on the first day you have a litre and half, on the second day a litre, and on the third day just half a litre, and on the shooting day- none.
He said that while it’s not healthy and would not recommend it to people, it does look good. (We would agree). But without a proper diet, working out and doing crazy diet fads will get you nowhere.
What is Cavill doing when he’s not preparing for a role?
The normal routine of Henry Cavill
The actor revealed that cardio works best for him, and he tries to incorporate a lot of that into his workout regimen. His day starts with 30 minutes of fasted cardio, resistance training along with weight lifting, and a heavy diet to maintain his bulky figure.
His diet includes steak, chicken (he is a big fan of curry), scrambled eggs, and lots of oatmeal protein shakes. Lunch for him is roasted chicken with jasmine rice and apple dessert, which is followed sometimes by a second lunch chicken breast, and roast potatoes with curry sauce.
Dinner is usually bison steak with brown rice pasta, and the day ends with a protein shake. The trick is not to be afraid of carbs and incorporate them into your diet. But what is even more necessary, according to him, is drawing out a full meal and workout plan well in advance.
Well, if you’re hungry thinking about all the food mentioned above, you’re not the only one. Time to draw a workout and meal plan, isn’t it?
