What awaits fans in season 5 of The Crown?
While there are rumours going around that the show might cover present-day royalties like Princess Megan Markle and Prince Harry, the series may not go that far. The fifth season will be based upon the relationship and public life of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. Therefore it will most likely be based in the 80s and 90s. As the turbulent and scandalous relationship between Princess Diana and Prince Charles takes center stage in the next season, fans can also expect to see the rise and fall of Britain’s Iron Lady.

Margaret Thatcher, one of the most iconic and influential political figures of the world and Britain in the last century led the country for nearly a decade. Her rule was marked by turbulence, controversies, and the Falklands War with Argentina. The season might last until the early 2000s and so we might get to see Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s divorce and following her death in a car accident which was mourned by her admirers the world over. It does seem like the 5th season will be driven by the deaths of older royals such as the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret in 2002.
