The love for bikes defined Jax Teller both in his life and death. So, what was he riding during his last moments?
With its interesting, complex characters and a compact and intriguing storyline, FX’s hit show ‘Sons of Anarchy’ is a good watch in itself. But what makes it fantastic is the amazing bikes that the outlaw gang members ride. Some might argue that the bikes were the stars of the show. About a motorcycle club that is basically a gang doing questionable, illegal things, the show is based on the love of bikes. No wonder then that so much effort and attention was devoted to the motorcycles each character rode.

A custom bike for each member
No wonder also that everything bike-related on the show was just perfect: the creators of the show actually consulted with a real-life former motorcycle gang member, David Labrava, about the bike aspects of the show. Labrava even starred on the show as Happy Lowman.
Most of the characters ride Harley Davidsons along with some customisation. Jax Teller’s bike in ‘Sons of Anarchy’ was also custom-made, and these custom aspects are actually what made the bikes on the show as memorable as they are. So what bike did he ride all through the show? Moreover, what bike was Jax Teller riding in season 7 of the show, in which he meets with his death?
Jax’s bike
In the case of the gang leader, Jax Teller’s bike is a 2003 Harley Davidson Dyna Super Glide Sport. It has custom T-bars, a V-twin, four strokes, and an engine with 1449 displacement. Powder-coated black, the bike’s torque is 78.2 ft-lbs.
On the fuel tank of his bike, Jax has displayed a graphic of the Reaper. And like many of the other gang members, he also has the same front drag fairing.
The bike that Jax dies on
In the season finale of the show, Jax runs his motorcycle into a speeding truck, arms raised wide apart, meeting his end on his own terms. It was a poignant death to a memorable character, and the fact that he died on a motorcycle — something that he loves — seems to give the bike a bit more significance.
According to “Hot Cars”, the final bike Jax rode on was a rebuilt 1946 Harley Davidson Customized EL Knucklehead with a V-twin, four-stroke, and 1208cc engine. Curiously, the Knucklehead was a deep sky blue and was devoid of any markings that the gang had. It also lacked the graphic of the Reaper that his earlier bike had.
Interestingly, the actor who plays Jax, Charlie Hunnam, is a motorcycle fan as well. What’s more, just like Jax Teller, Charlie Hunnam loves motorcycles and often rides on it in the city. It’s no surprise then at how natural the actor looks on all the bikes he rides on the show!
