Fans are elated at being teased about ‘Sons of Anarchy’ sequel
‘Sons of Anarchy’ made its debut on the American television as a crime drama in 2008. The show follows around a biker gang that operates as an outlaw in a fictional town, Charming, located in Central Valley of California.
The president of the bikers club is Jax Teller, who discovers his late father’s manifesto leading him to question his life, relationships, and the club. ‘Sons of Anarchy’ explored themes of violence, loyalty, unity, redemption, betrayal, and love in a way that soon gripped the viewers in a trance. The creators experimented with complex emotions, relationships, and characters, producing a powerful show for the viewers.
‘Sons of Anarchy’ had already grabbed a prequel spin-off called ‘Mayans M.C’. Given the show’s popularity, it is only natural that fans would want more. In a moment of surprise, Kurt Sutter teased fans of the show by revealing his vision for a sequel of ‘Sons of Anarchy’, leaving the fans wanting more.

A fan wrote on “Twitter“, “Can we expect a sequel to sons of anarchy with a story that focuses on Abel aka Jax Teller’s son while having flashbacks to Jax? SOA without Jax will never really be SOA 🙁 I’m applying for this role though because apparently I have a resemblance with Charlie! #SutterThinks #sonsofanarchy“.
Another fan said, “Need a sequel with Abel prospecting for the club and Thomas trying to keep him away. @sutterink come on! Give the people what they really wanted and not more #MayansMC #SonsOfAnarchy“.
Kurt Sutter unveils exciting ideas for the sequel
Back in April, Kurt Sutter engaged in a conversation with fans about a possible sequel for ‘Sons of Anarchy’. A fan asked him, “How, in your mind, will Abel’s destiny play out?” Soon after, Sutter took to ‘Twitter’ and said,
“I had this revelation between ‘Sons of Anarchy’ and ‘Mayans’. That the SoA mythology would be four shows. ‘Sons of Anarchy’, ‘Mayans MC’, ‘First Nine’ and ‘Sam Crow’. ‘First Nine’ would be a limited series. Nine episodes. It would end before we began to tread on history we created in Son. ‘Sam Crow’ would be the fate of Wendi, Nero, Abel and Thomas”.
Sutter’s tweet threw the fans into a frenzy of deducing and theorizing about a potential sequel. The sequel idea that Sutter envisioned was of a show that would be called ‘Sam Crow’ and would potentially focus on the lives of Jax’s sons. Fans were excited to explore how Abel’s life could play out in the potential sequel after they witnessed him putting on the “Son” ring at the end of ‘Sons of Anarchy’. Sutter, however, just revealed his vision for the show and did not offer any confirmation on the sequel.
He said,
“I can’t discuss my current situation with Fox, so right now I can’t comment on the reality of any of this happening”.
Fans are surely delighted to get a sneak peek into Sutter’s vision for the show!
Will Charlie Hunnam return?
Even just a tease is enough for fans to start speculating and Sutter’s tease has led to a flood of questions among fans. One of the hard questions is if the sequel were indeed to materialize, would Charlie Hunnam return as Jax Teller? Hunnam’s character met its death at the end of the original series. Many shows have brought back characters from the dead in the form of flashbacks. It won’t be surprising if a potential sequel plotline wished to explore this angle to bring back the fan-favourite Hunnam.
We know that Hunnam had refused to partake in the show’s prequel, which is a matter of concern. He told “Entertainment Tonight“, “I have his cut [leather vest] and, you know, people have been to my house and asked if they could try it on and I [say] ‘No one will ever put that cut on again’ and ‘We got to respect that dude. He’s not with us anymore.’ So I would never bring him back from the dead for something like that … It was seven years of my life. He sort of became sacred to me”.
