Scroll down to find answers to the most asked questions about the show’s lead- Jax Teller.
No surprise, Charlie Hunnam owes his career to Jax Teller – the indelible character that he played for the first time in 2008 on FX’s hit show ‘Sons of Anarchy’. The American action drama received promising reviews and viewership numbers throughout the seven seasons run. The show followed an outlaw motorcycle club SAMCRO- Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Redwood, originally based in the fictitious town of Charming, California. This club is involved in several illegal enterprises. The club, formerly headed by Clay Morrow (Jax’s stepfather), often has a bone to pick with rival gangs, politicians, cops, and local authorities. Here we are, answering some of the most asked questions about the lead actor – Charlie Hunnam, who plays Jax in ‘Sons of Anarchy’ (SOA).

How did Jax get behind bars in the first place? Season 3 ending explained.
‘Sons of Anarchy’ fans must remember the finale of season 3 which was hyped to such an extent that there was a fair chance that it would fall flat on its face. But creator Kurt Sutter saved the season with a vengeful, tactical, and neatly wrapped finale that first aired on FX network on November 30, 2010.
With Jax’s baby being kidnapped, he is an impossible situation and decides to cut a deal with agent Stahl (played by Ally Walker) which would mean betraying the brotherhood. The sons successfully buy Jimmy O from the Russians for $2 million. The Russians seemed to be fooled by the members of the motorcycle club when they realise that the money is fake. While they recollect themselves, the sons have driven away with Jimmy O (who’s been transferred to Tara’s car).

Meanwhile, Stahl reaches the SAMCRO clubhouse and arrests the gang on gun charges. When Clay asks how she knew Jimmy was with them, she reveals that Jax had been informing her all along. This revelation erupts into a fight, making Stahl believe that she has the upper hand in the situation. What she doesn’t know is that the brotherhood already knew about Jax and it was all part of their plan – a triple bluff.
The plan runs its final lap when Opie, Piney, Chibs, and Kozik (who weren’t arrested), use Chief Unser to trick Stahl into believing that the sons had laid down a trap to ambush the ATF along the route. Stahl sends her team to check the route which leaves her alone with Jimmy and the sons. Chibs gets enough time to seek revenge from Jimmy as he slashes his face before stabbing him, while Opie shoots Stahl in the head- the same way she murdered his wife Donna in season 1.
The sons follow the van carrying Jax and the arrested club members, all smiling, which makes it clear that SAMCRO knew Jax never betrayed them and they had executed the plan in style. Thanks to Jax’s agreement with Stahl which reduced the sentence from 15 years to mere 14 months. To top it off, they got rid of one of their biggest enemies – Agent June Stahl.
Why did Jax get stabbed in the prison?
Season 4 resumes with the introduction of new characters such as Eli Roosevelt who takes charge of the San Joaquin Sheriff’s Department in Charming, Jacob Hale, the new Mayor, and Lincoln Potter, an assistant US Attorney who is working closely with Roosevelt to build up a case against the SAMCRO members. All of them meet the club members who are released from the penitentiary after 14 months.
Earlier during his sentence in the prison, Jax gets stabbed in the stomach while he’s waiting in the phone queue. The only possible reason as to why Teller got stabbed by the Russian in the prison is revenge. The SAMCRO club fooled the Russians with fake money in exchange of Jimmy O in the season 3 finale which must have rubbed them off the wrong way. Otto, later, seeks revenge by shanking the same person in the ear who had stabbed Jax in the prison (as shown in the montage).
Does ‘Sons of Anarchy’ lead Jax Teller die in the end?
Season 7 of the ‘Sons of Anarchy’ that premiered in 2014 saw some gruesome deaths and clashes which resulted in the loss of many fan- favourite characters. Jax shoots drug mafia August Marks and avenges Bobby’s death before finally saying goodbye to the SAMCRO club, which is now headed by Chibs.
The last episode named “Papa’s Goods” shows Jax riding his bike on the same highway where his father John Teller lost his life. Jax turns a deaf ear to the officer who orders him to get off his bike and finds himself being chased by several police vehicles. On seeing a huge truck coming from the other end of the highway, Jax closes his eyes and suspends his arms in the air, thereby driving straight into the truck.
Who was the driving the truck that Jax Teller crashed into?
The person driving the “Papa’s Goods” truck was Milo. To refresh your memory, Milo was introduced in the previous episode. Yes, he’s the same person who rode Gemma to the nursing home to see her father. Coincidence or not?
While ‘Sons of Anarchy’ paved way for another crime drama spin-off series ‘Mayan M.C.’, Charlie Hunnam reiterated that he would never, ever put that cut back on. And the character of Jax had lived inside him for years which manifested in ways that he could have never imagined. All seven seasons of ‘Sons of Anarchy’ are available on Netflix.
