Sheldon’s death couldn’t escape the eagle eyes of fans, TBBT Plot hole uncovered
The great Sheldon Cooper died and turned into a ghost and there was no big bang around it. In fact, it was a hush-hush affair as if the makers were not ready to get away with Sheldon Cooper so early. That’s why even though there is no way one can survive in the situation that Sheldon was in, Sheldon survived and turned into a ghost.
One can easily make such claims since The Big Bang Theory feeds on science and experiments. If they swear by science, then there is no chance of Sheldon Cooper escaping death in that situation. He should have died back then in season 3.
Read below to know what happened in season 3 of The Big Bang Theory that killed Sheldon Cooper. And why makers pretended as if nothing happened?
The forgotten death of Sheldon Cooper
It was one episode titled “The Vengeance Formulation” on season 3 that killed Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory. Remember Sheldon (Jim Parsons) was booked for a Radio interview along with his sparring partner Barry Kripke (John Ross Bowie). This time their feud took an ugly turn. Barry pumped the office with Helium due to which poor Sheldon (surprisingly) spent the entire interview sounding like Tweety Pie.
Don’t even try this experiment for fun because in the real scenario. There is no way one can escape death in a room full of Helium. If we take science seriously, then Barry murdered Sheldon Cooper. Sheldon died due to the collapse of the lungs live on radio.
The Reddit fan of The Big Bang Theory explained:
‘But if the room contained enough helium to make his voice squeaky just by breathing, Sheldon would actually be suffocating due to lack of oxygen, the lighter helium having displaced the heavier oxygen.’
‘You can do it with a balloon because you can breathe normal air between huffs,’ they continued. ‘But if you’re in a room full of helium, you won’t last long before passing out and asphyxiating.’
Sheldon in turned behaved in a docile manner. He took his mild revenge by filling Barry’s office with foam. This is considered a rare moment when Sheldon acted responsibly.
Why did the Big Bang Theory continue with dead Sheldon?
The death of Sheldon Cooper did not get much attention. In fact, makers never wanted us to focus on the experiment gone bad. Since it is a sitcom, we can forgive them for making the mockery of science.
The Big Bang of Sheldon’s death was silenced even though it involved ridiculing science. But ridiculing is better than getting away from the protagonist (Sheldon Cooper) of the show. Imagine if Sheldon would have died in season 3, how would have The Big Bang Theory survived for 12 seasons. To make a show run for years some of such plot holes are ignored and covered in silence.
The history of The Big Bang Theory spanning over 12 seasons is the living example of how Sheldon was killed by science and saved by stupidity. The plot hole, even though glaring is necessary for the survival of The Bang Theory TV series.
