Sherlock and Bond in one frame – All thanks to Henry Cavill.
Before you make a toast to the news, let us clarify what the deal is. No, you are not going to see Sherlock Holmes and James Bond consulting each other in some new adaption, but what you might get is nothing short of a miracle, and Henry Cavill is to be credited for that.
We all know that Henry Cavill, the man we all loved as DC’s Superman, is portraying the great Sherlock Holmes in Netflix’s new ‘Enola Holmes’. The movie will be portraying Sherlock as a secondary character to the lead Enola, sister of Sherlock in the Nancy Springer book series, played by ‘Stranger Things’ fame Millie Bobby Brown. To everyone’s surprise, the Netflix movie shows Sherlock in an entirely different and colourful mood, which Henry Cavill is nailing as always.
However, most of the fans don’t know that Henry Cavill is also being considered to play James Bond once Daniel Craig retires after ‘No Time to Die’. Though it’s not confirmed yet, Henry Cavill might be the first actor in history to play these two iconic roles on-screen.
Which James Bond Are You? (Quiz)
A fan art depicts how Henry Cavill will nail both the avatars.
While we have only been talking about how Henry Cavill will nail it as both Sherlock and Bond, a fan has indeed proved it. Netflix recently released a new ‘Enola Holmes’ poster featuring Henry as Holmes. A fan took the opportunity to prove how spot-on Cavill will look as Bond.
A fan with the Instagram Username ‘spdrmnkyxxiii’, created a fan-art and posted it on the social networking site. The creative genius captioned it: “What was released yesterday was a #sherlockholmes poster. What I saw was a #Jamesbond poster. SWIPE TO SEE THE #BEFORE AND #AFTER
With #danielcraigs run coming to an end. @henrycavill is the perfect actor to take up the mantle. His charm really it. Who do you think should be the next #007”.
Indeed, we now see James Bond, a perfect 007. All we now want is for the creators of the Bond series to look at that art and cast Cavill as the next Bond. They don’t even have to bother for a movie name. As the fan even named the movie in the art poster as “Need to Know”.
What are the possibilities of Henry as Bond?
When it comes to such characters and a movie series which has been running for half a century, you can’t really count on anything. No one knows who’ll be the next James Bond. But what we know is that the last time everybody was excited to see the new face of James Bond, Henry Cavill almost won it from Daniel Craig.
As revealed to “Men’s Health” by Henry Cavill himself, he gave a screen test as Bond for ‘Casino Royale’ (2006). He almost grabbed the role but lost it to Craig for he was too young (22 yo) then.
Cavill said, “With the whole Bond process, I screen-tested many, many moons ago and it was, as far as I know, down to Daniel and myself – maybe one other”.
However, with the popularity of ‘The Witcher’ star now, and his perfect persona to be James Bond, we wish he becomes the next 007. If it happens, we are going to see James Bond and Sherlock Holmes in one frame, in one man i.e. Henry Cavill. Do you think he’ll make a good James Bond?
