Lockdown- A blessing in disguise for Sarah Michelle Geller
After a long time, she is getting offers from shows that have a track record of being super successful in the past. Their reboot has the potential to make Sarah’s career bright again. She has the opportunity to prove her worth, which she couldn’t earlier. Once considered as the most promising teen star, her career flopped for reasons unknown to her.
Even though she is flooded with offers, Sarah can’t instantly say yes to both ‘The Big Bang Theory’ and ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’. Both the shows demand full-time devotion, which means she has to pick one. Will she deny the show that made her career or will she reject ‘The Big Bang Theory’, a show people die to be a part of?
Which Buffy the Vampire Slayer Character Are You? (Quiz)
Sarah’s long stint in ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’
Sarah Michelle Geller is still known today as Buffy Summers, the no-nonsense vampire slayer in ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’. Buffy Summers and her gang defended Sunnydale from demons and vampires.
The role of Buffy gave Sarah Michelle Geller worldwide recognition. She instantly became an idol for 90s kids. In her prime, she also appeared in ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ and ‘Scream 2’, and did a voiceover in ‘Small Soldiers’, had a lead role in ‘Cruel Intentions’, ‘Simply Irresistible’, and ‘Harvard Man’. The most notable project during the Buffy years is Raja Gosnell’s ‘Scooby-Doo’, where she played Daphne. But Sarah started doing fewer projects later in her career. Why? And how did she feel about playing herself in ‘The Big Bang Theory’?
When Raj Koothrapalli met Sarah on ‘The Big Bang Theory’
Sarah Michelle Gellar slowed down after getting married and started giving more time to her family. Despite taking her career with ease, she was on TV as SNL host a couple of times, and appeared in two episodes of ‘Angel’, one episode of ‘Sex and the City’, ‘Grosse Pointe’, and ‘Those Who Can’t’.
Her latest TV appearance as herself in ‘The Big Bang Theory’s’ episode “The Stockholm Syndrome” is the talk of the town. Sarah’s appearance helped us tread the sad week on ‘The Big Bang Theory’, the longest-running sitcom that was singing the swan song after entertaining us for 12 years.
Sarah played herself in the closing episode, and after meeting Raj Koothrapalli on the plane to Stockholm ended up accompanying him to the Nobel Prize ceremony in which Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik) receive their long-awaited award.
Sarah was excited to be part of ‘The Big Bang Theory’. Posting a screenshot of her scene, Sarah wrote on Instagram: “It may not have been a date for me and Raj, but it was certainly an important date for @bigbangtheory_cbs and I was so excited and honored to be a part of it!!! Thank you for having me #bigbangtheory@kunalkarmanayyar”
Lockdown comes as a turning point in her career
It is rumoured that Sarah Michelle Geller can become the show’s perfect permanent alongside Kunal Nayyar as Raj Koothrappali when ‘The Big Bang Theory’ begins season 13 on a romantic note. Sarah can also be a part of ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ reboot, according to a Tweet from Monica Owusu-Breen as both the executive producer and writer.
She has always been a choosy person when it comes to taking roles. Now Sarah is torn between the two iconic shows- one that made her career and one that people die to be part of. She doesn’t want to feel the same rush and headaches that she felt while doing the last seasons of ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’. We leave it up to Sarah to make a perfect choice. We hope that she will seize the once in a blue moon opportunity.
