Sarah Michelle Geller is not sure which one to choose between upcoming projects- ‘The Big Bang Theory’ and ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ reboot as both has its pros and cons.
No 90s kid can forget Buffy and her Scooby gang. The news of its anticipated comeback made its loyal fans ecstatic. But Sarah can’t instantly say yes to the offer as she is rumoured to have been considered as a permanent in ‘The Big Bang Theory’ Season 13.
- Sarah’s iconic teen career in ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’
- Sarah Michelle Geller dates Raj Koothrapalli on ‘The Big Bang Theory’
- Which reboot will Sarah choose for her next comeback?
Both the shows demand full-time devotion, which means she has to pick one. Will she deny the show that made her career or will she reject ‘The Big Bang Theory’, a show people die to be a part of.
Sarah’s iconic teen career in ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’
Sarah Michelle Geller played Buffy Summers, the no-nonsense vampire slayer in ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’. Buffy Summers and her gang defended Sunnydale from demons and vampires.
‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ premiered on The WB in 1997 and came to an end in 2003 after 7 seasons, and led to a bunch of tie-in products such as novels and comic books, as well as the spinoff series, ‘Angel’.
The role of Buffy gave Sarah Michelle Geller worldwide recognition. She still is an idol for 90s kids. ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ wasn’t the only project Gellar was doing in those years.
She also appeared in ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ and ‘Scream 2’, and did a voiceover in ‘Small Soldiers’, had a lead role in ‘Cruel Intentions’, ‘Simply Irresistible’, and ‘Harvard Man’.
Perhaps the most notable project during the Buffy years was Raja Gosnell’s ‘Scooby-Doo’, where she played Daphne. But Sarah started doing lesser projects later in her career. Why? And how did she feel about playing herself in ‘The Big Bang Theory’?
Sarah Michelle Geller dates Raj Koothrapalli on ‘The Big Bang Theory’
Sarah Michelle Gellar’s career hasn’t stopped, but she is giving more time to her family. Despite taking her career with ease, she was on TV as SNL host a couple of times, and appeared in two episodes of ‘Angel’, one episode of ‘Sex and the City’, ‘Grosse Pointe’, and ‘Those Who Can’t’.
Her latest TV appearance as herself in ‘The Big Bang Theory’s’ episode “The Stockholm Syndrome” was the talk of the town. Sarah’s appearance was a bright moment in a very sad week for ‘The Big Bang Theory’ fans, who had to say goodbye to the 12-year long show for the last time.
Sarah played herself in the closing episode, and after meeting Raj Koothrapalli on the plane to Stockholm ended up accompanying Raj (Kunal Nayyar) to the Nobel Prize ceremony in which Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik) receive their long-awaited award.
Sarah was excited to be part of ‘The Big Bang Theory’. Posting a screenshot of her scene, Sarah wrote on Instagram: “It may not have been a date for me and Raj, but it was certainly an important date for @bigbangtheory_cbs and I was so excited and honoured to be a part of it!!! Thank you for having me #bigbangtheory”.
Which reboot will Sarah choose for her next comeback?
Many believe that Sarah Michelle Geller can become the show’s perfect permanent alongside Kunal Nayyar as Raj Koothrappali and kickstart season 13 on a romantic note.
What’s important, though, is that she is still working, and her fans are surely up to date with all her projects, and will never forget her time as the great Buffy Summers.
The rumour of Sarah making a comeback on ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ started in 2018 with a Tweet from Monica Owusu-Breen as both the executive producer and writer. Click here to read the tweet.
Now Sarah is torn between the two iconic shows- one that made her career and one that people die to be part of. She has always been a choosy person when it comes to taking roles. She does not want to feel the same rush and headaches that she felt while doing the last seasons of ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’. We leave it up to Sarah to make a perfect choice and please the fans once again.
