Who is Kim Wexler?
Kim Wexler is one of the lead characters in the prequel, Better Call Saul. She was raised in Nebraska by an alcoholic mother who had no financial security and found it difficult to make ends meet. Her mother would be so far behind in paying rent, so much that she and Kim would have to escape to another place without paying the amount, as a result they had no place they could call home.

An urgent need to get a better life motivated Kim to leave her hometown and move to Albuquerque. In search for better opportunities for herself, Kim made her way to work in a mailroom at Hamlin, Hamlin and McGill (HMM), where Howard Hamlin and Chuck McGill were lead partners. This is where Kim met Chuck’s younger brother Jimmy, who was employed at the mailroom, too.
After HMM loaned her the money to pay for law school, she completed her education and then joined the firm as an associate, eventually becoming one of the top lawyers at the firm.
Facts Rhea hid from her family and friends about her character.
Unlike her on-screen character, Rhea found it really hard to keep some secrets about Kim that she wishes she could tell everyone. In an interview with Looper, she exclaimed how difficult it was to keep things to herself. Most times, in order to create suspense for her family and friends who were watching the show religiously, she chose not to give any spoilers.
“I didn’t even tell my fiancé. He knew that I didn’t fly home after that episode, so I must have been in more episodes, but he didn’t know if they were flashbacks after that. He didn’t know if it was, like, is she in a coma for the rest of the season?” she says. “So, he jumped.”
What was the most difficult secret Rhea found hard to keep?
In the same interview, Rhea expresses how she found it so hard to keep certain secrets from her fans. One of them was whether or not Kim would ever join Jimmy McGill on one of his less legal scams. “I kept being interviewed before that season,” shares Seehorn. “People were just like, ‘Do you think she’ll ever be like that? Do you think she’ll ever do a scam?’ I was like, ‘I don’t know.’ So yeah, that was hard to keep secret.”

However, at certain times the star was in a fix with not knowing how far and long her character would survive. This uncertainty was one of the biggest secrets she couldn’t reveal even if she wanted to.
“I used to sort of spend a lot of energy worried, reading scripts in my bed for season one and two, and frantically skipping through them, trying to figure out like, oh, I live another day.” Rhea exclaimed.
But eventually, she came to terms with it, as she says- “Eventually, you just have to let it go and put your hands up. I decided a while back to not dwell on the actual specifics of how she goes out, if she goes out, in what state she goes out.”
The end of Kim Wexler
While no one knows if Kim Wexler will survive till the end of the show, fans love and admire the actress and the character she plays. Regardless of when and how the character’s on-screen time ends, Rhea Seehorn knows she will be fine.
