The famous folk dancer died in a car accident along with 3 other artists near Jodhpur
The folk dancer Queen Harish who is famous all over the world, died in a car crash. Along with him, three artists died while five were injured. Furthermore, this incident took place on Sunday morning near Jodhpur, Rajasthan. What’s more, to know is that the victims were traveling by an SUV towards Ajmer.
This is how the SHO of Bilara police station, Sitaram Khoja, narrated the incident-
“Their vehicle rammed into a stationary truck which left Harish, Ravindra, Bhikhe Khan and Latif Khan dead. Five others were injured in the mishap,”
As many condolences came rushing in, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot too said a few words –
“The death of four persons including the famous artist Queen Harish in a road accident in Jodhpur is very sad. Dedicated to the folk art and culture of Rajasthan, Harish gave a new identity to Jaisalmer with his different dance style. His death is a big loss to the field of folk art.”
Harish Kumar, more popularly known as Queen Harish, was a world-renowned folk dancer.
He mesmerized his audience with his dance performances.
Queen Harish was famous for his many dance forms. Nonetheless, he performed all of them with great expertise. Some of the Rajasthani folk forms were- Ghoomar, Kalbelia, Bhawai, Chang, etc.
An artist might have been killed, but his legacy will forever stay.
