The Brazilian football player has been confiscated of Brazil’s captaincy for the upcoming Copa America which will be held in Brazil from 14 June to 7 July.
Neymar was entitled to the role eight months ago. But due to recent disciplinary issues, he was stripped of the title by head coach Tite.
The 27-year-old will be replaced by his teammate from Paris St- Germain, Dani Alves. Alves has been Brazil’s captain four times. Most recently he led the team to a 1-0 win against Germany in March 2018.
Neymar was excluded by French football authorities for three matches as a result of his aggressive display of emotions as he hit a fan after PSG was defeated in Coupe de France finals.
Apparently, Neymar was also a part of a dressing room episode with PSG teammates.
In a much recent event, Neymar got injured during a training session with Brazil. He felt pain in his left knee.
