We can only wonder about the fireworks on the show’s premiere with this kind of hype a year before the show’s expected release. Everything aside, Netflix has released the official logline for Season 2 of ‘The Witcher’, and it reveals many important details for the epic-fantasy show.
Netflix revealed the plot for ‘The Witcher’ Season 2.
Netflix’s ‘The Witcher’, created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, is based on “The Witcher” book series by the Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. Even though the show doesn’t follow the exact footsteps of the stories in the books, it follows a similar path towards the same destination.

Season 1 of ‘The Witcher’ was specifically adapted from ‘The Last Wish’ and ‘Sword of Destiny’. These are collections of short stories preceding the main Witcher saga. Thus, season 2 will also be based on the stories continuing from the last ones.
However, to save everyone’s guess, Netflix has revealed the plot for ‘The Witcher’ Season 2, and it clearly reveals the exact storyline season 2 will be following.
The story of Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer
While the biggest flaw of season 1 was the multiple timelines, it was necessary to bring the key characters together in the end. As we saw at the end of ‘The Witcher’ Season 1, Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill), Ciri – Crown Princess of Cintra (Freya Allan), and Yennefer of Vengerberg, finally made it to the same timeline and to one location. Thus, we can be assured that season 2 will exist in the current timeline for its better part. The recently revealed plot for ‘The Witcher’ Season 2 by Netflix also confirms the same.
The logline says:
“Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen.”
“While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans, and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”
It hints that the majority of season 2 will be focused around Geralt and Ciri’s relationship. As Geralt will take Ciri to his childhood home, we can expect a bit of Geralt’s past as well through flashbacks. And who knows what else Kaer Morhen has inside the walls for us.
The first look at Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer.
Along with the plot details for season 2 of ‘The Witcher‘, Netflix and the creators also revealed first look images of all three key characters from season 2.
Henry Cavill shared Geralt’s image sporting a shining new armour, with some extra abs carved on it to give the White Wolf a bit more look – as if he lacked any. The new armour looked stiffer, and sturdy, but might slow down the Witcher.
Ciri’s first look pictures are more revealing about her side of the story. In the images, she can be seen at a place which is most probably Kaer Morhen. She can be seen with a wooden sword, thus, probably getting trained by Geralt. And, most noticeably, she looks fearless rather than the scared little princess from the last season.
Yennefer’s first look images reveal two key things. The first being the well-guessed fact that she’s alive. Second, in the images, she can be seen tied up in the chain. It might mean she’s being held as a prisoner.
