Netflix to resume the filming of The Witcher Season 2.
The TV adaptation of Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski’s book series of the same name, The Witcher, premiered on Netflix on 20 December 2019. Sure of its success prior to the release, Netflix confirmed the Season 2 well in advance.
Though Season 1 received mix-reviews, the show still managed to find a place among the best shows on Netflix. Fans fell in love with the Witcher avatar of Henry Cavill, and they are waiting for Season 2’s release.
And for our love of The Witcher, Netflix has announced they will resume the filming of The Witcher Season 2 soon.

The date of filming revealed through this beautiful poem.
Team of The Witcher took to Tweeter on 22nd June to announce the date of resuming the filming of Season 2. They didn’t reveal the date as you would expect them to, they instead posted a well-crafted poem, revealing the date in the end, which is 17th August.
The poem reads:
“I’m dusting off my lute and quill, I have some news, some mead to spill:” as if a character of the show, probably Jaskier (Joey Batey), himself spoke to the fans.
It continued “After all the months we’ve been apart It’s time for production to restart. The Witcher and his bard – who’s flawless, Will reunite on set 17 August.”
Though the poem aimed to reveal the date for filming, the poem itself gained much attention, and fans have been talking about the poem more than the main stuff.
What to expect in Season 2 of The Witcher?
The Witcher Season 2 is highly awaited among the fans of fantasy. Though all the key characters and actors including Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill), Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), Ciri (Freya Allan), etcetera will be returning to the second season, the highlight will be the new characters, including the new Witchers to be introduced.
The showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich also revealed to The Wrap that unlike Season 1 of The Witcher, which was set in various timelines, Season 2 will have a single timeline.
With the filming of the Witcher going to finally resume on 17th August, we might expect the show to be ready for premier by mid-2021. It’s still a long gape, but we can be assured of getting something worthy in the end.
