Police have claimed there was no proof in the case filed by Tanushree Dutta
The Mumbai Police have closed the file against Nana Patekar. He was charged with sexually harassing his co-star, Tanushree Dutta. The police submitted their B-summary report. In this report, they claimed that there was no evidence. Thus, they were “unable to continue the investigation.”
Indeed, the #Metoo movement was a bold move. But apparently not bold enough to get full support from the Police.
What is a B-Summary report?
It is a report filed by the police if they fail to find any evidence against the accused.
A sea of unanswered questions
With India in the deep quick stand of corruption, was this file-closing an honest move? Or was it a typical infamous pressurized move? Undoubtedly, Nana Patekar is a well-known Bollywood star. Was this matter suppressed because it held some dark and tangled secrets? Or maybe it was a thread to a much-bigger yarn.
The imbalanced society
Tanushree Dutta says she more than expected this outcome. In addition, she said in reference to accused actor Alok Nath,
“A corrupt police force and legal system giving a clean chit to an even more corrupt person Nana who has been accused even in the past of bullying, intimidation and harassment by several women in the film industry.”
What happened 10 years ago?
Tanushree Dutta claimed that Nana Patekar had misbehaved with her. Moreover, she had said that this took place on the set of the movie ‘Horn OK Pleassss’. She was out of sight for many years before she appeared in September 2018 and made the allegations.
Was it really a false accusation to defame a star?
