What was ‘Two and a Half Men’ about?
In the early season of ‘Two and a Half Men’, the show starred Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer as two brothers named Charlie and Alan Harper respectively. While Charlie was a womanizer who wrote jingles and had a beautiful house on the beach, Alan was an uptight, nerdy single father. Alan and his son, Jake (played by Angus T. Jones), moved in with Charlie. The show revolved around the lifestyles of these three central characters until Walden Thoreau Schmidt, played by Ashton Kutcher, replaced Charlie Sheen’s Charlie in the ninth season of the show.
The hilarious sitcom ran for a total of 12 seasons (Sheen left after season 8) and was a darling of TV ratings.
Miley Cyrus’ cameo
Cyrus appeared in the role of Missi, the daughter of one of Walden’s old friends. Walden, who takes her in for a few days when she first comes to town to consider moving to Los Angeles, finds himself both turned off and attracted to the loquacious, buxom teen at the same time.
While Walden in his head thinks the feeling of attraction is mutual, Missi breaks his bubble and confesses her plans to set him up with her mother.
In her first return to sitcom television since starring in the very popular show ‘Hannah Montana’, Cyrus proved that she can still draw laughs. The role as a Southern chatterbox may not be too far from her real-life persona, but Cyrus nevertheless brought her unique charm to a character who’s not so likable, at least on paper.
The time Angus T. Jones almost got replaced by Miley Cyrus
After appearing for about two episodes on the long-running sitcom’s 10th season in 2012, there were rumours around the popstar joining the cast as a full-time member.Sources from the set of the top-rated CBS sitcom told “Celebuzz” back in the day that Miley Cyrus is being eyed as a potential replacement for Angus T. Jones after the actor openly called the show “filth” on YouTube.
“There are talks to replace Angus and the perfect person would be Miley Cyrus”, the insider revealed. “The episodes that she appeared on brought in the highest ratings of the season. One possibility is that she could easily be written into the show to go to college”, the portal reported.
According to an insider, those who worked with her on set, including Kutcher, were especially impressed by her work ethic. The cast of the show had found Cyrus pleasant and very enjoyable to work with. Meanwhile, Jones insisted that he is unaware of any new development. He opened up a bit about Cyrus being considered to join the show, sharing with “E! News” that while he’s “on a need-to-know basis” when it comes to the show’s comings and goings; he did express some excitement about the Cyrus joining the team.
“And it would be fun to work with her”, he said. “Whatever it’s going to be, it’s going to be interesting”, Jones told the portal.
“Honestly, they don’t tell me anything about what the future shows are going to be. But if that’s what’s going to happen, it will be cool. I’ve met her a few times before”, he added.
However, as we know, it never happened that way and instead, Cyrus just had those two cameos, playing Walden’s talkative family friend Missi. Tell us in the comments if you would have liked to see her as a full time cast on the show.
