A big revelation has been made about The Big Bang Theory nerds, Sheldon and Amy. They have kids, as admitted by adult Sheldon, but their daughter isn’t anything like him. She is more Missy 2.0.
Sheldon and Amy— the one couple we have always rooted for in The Big Bang Theory— have been unlike other regular couples, but their unconventional romance is what the fans have always looked up to. When an online dating site mentioned Sheldon and Amy to be the perfect match, little did we know that these two would literally dictate couple goals? From being an awkward couple to living together and finally marrying each other, Sheldon and Amy had managed to keep us engaged in their awkward but fascinating romantic life. What’s even better is that Sheldon has hinted at having a baby with Amy and their daughter is more Missy Cooper than she is Sheldon Cooper.

Sheldon and Amy have a child
About two years ago, one of the episodes of Young Sheldon mentioned Sheldon and Amy having children together. The season 1 finale of the show had young Sheldon interfering in the romantic life of his meemaw so much so that she had to draw boundaries. At this moment, the voiceover of adult Sheldon said, “I would go on to draw up such contracts throughout my life. With roommates, with my wife, even with my own children.” The revelation might have been exciting at first but it was no surprise. Sheldon and Amy had always been interested in procreating because, let’s not kid ourselves, he would want to pass on his DNA and make little brainy Sheldon geniuses the world needs. However, their daughter might be less of Sheldon and more of Missy, his twin sister.
Steven Molaro, the co-creator of Young Sheldon told “TV Guide” about what inspired the line about Sheldon’s children from the season 1 finale. He said, “I think that some of these stories adult Sheldon is telling us through young Sheldon are reflections on ‘now that I have my own children, maybe I’m seeing that world through my Dad’s eyes more clearly than I had. Those thoughts had been on my mind for awhile, and I think that’s what led to that final line of the season.”

Missy is the fun Cooper we never got to know
Missy Cooper is Sheldon’s fraternal twin who is dynamically opposite to him in every possible way. She is funnier, friendlier, and brattier than Sheldon. Despite Missy being the cooler Cooper, we hardly see her in The Big Bang Theory, except maybe in one or two episodes.
When we first meet Missy on The Big Bang Theory season 1 episode 15, the nerds (Leonard, Raj, and Howard) immediately start a contest to win her over. Until then, neither the nerds nor did we have any idea about the existence of Sheldon’s twin, and boy, what a lovely surprise she was! Her witty, snarky, and bratty attitude is not just badass, but delightful to watch. Rightfully, Sheldon has been intimidated by her because while he might be the smart one, Missy has always had the upper hand over him being stronger and wittier. If Sheldon and Amy have a daughter who’s anything like Missy Cooper, it would be a bonus because, with their brain and Missy’s attitude, that child could win the world over.
Sheldon and Amy’s daughter resembles Missy Cooper
Sheldon’s feelings about his responsibilities and perspectives as a father were inspired from Steven Molaro’s own life as he claimed. He said to “TV Guide”, “I’ve got two boys and I remember being 11 years old and your parents are like these gods to you, and then when my son was 11, my feeling about myself was ‘oh no, I don’t know what I’m doing! I have no idea what’s going on. Is that what my father felt like when I was 11?’ It really starts to change your perspective on a lot of things. And I think some of that is what we’re seeing on Young Sheldon.”
Sheldon’s revelation about his kids did not, however, point out at anything particular about the children. Molaro confirmed, “There are no plans for Sheldon and Amy to start having babies anytime soon. So, just because adult Sheldon has referred to it, there’s no timeline that we’re locked into.”
We don’t know anything specific about the children of Sheldon and Amy, but their daughter resembling Missy Cooper would be the best thing ever. Would you like to know more about Sheldon and Amy’s children? Let us know in the comments!
