Will the best friends Maya and Anna stand the test of teenage life on ‘Pen15’ Season 2 Part 2, or will they separate?
Be it the chemistry between the leads or the early 2000s pop-culture references, ‘Pen15‘ is brilliant. The central premise is built on the humour around social awkwardness that is found in middle schoolers. The first part of the second season of ‘Pen15’ dropped only recently in September 2020. Fans are already awaiting an update on ‘Pen15’ Season 2 Part 2. Maya Erskine and Anna Konkle, best friends and comedians, entered into a creative partnership in April 2018, when Hulu gave the nod to their co-creation ‘Pen15’. Featuring Anna and Maya, the twisted teen comedy series explores the awkward transition of the girls from childhood and teendom. Maya and Anna play the fictionalized versions of their 13-year-old selves. The cringe comedy, after premiering in Feb 2019, won hearts and was universally acclaimed. Expected plot of ‘PEN15’ Season 2 Part 2
In season 2, Brandt confesses that he has a secret crush on Maya, and outcasts Maya Erskine and Anna Konkle deal with the aftermath of the Season 1 finale. Moreover, Sam reveals to Maya that he is actually her secret AIM boyfriend, after dumping Jenna. The friendship is tested in various circumstances throughout season 2 part 1, but the experiences only make their bond stronger.
Maya told “Entertainment Weekly”:
“We’re hoping to keep the show [about] Anna and I in 7th grade, forever. That’s what the whole concept of the show is about: that purgatory. It’s not about these two characters going to high school. We might see them explore darker and more mature things next season.”
So we can expect the middle-schoolers to continue embarking upon silly and zany adventures in season 2 part 2 as well. This season, we might get to experience R-rated subjects with Maya and Anna exploring their sexuality further. The show will be packed with the trademark absurd and dark humour that it is known for.
