The famous comics writer Mark Millar has created a wave among the fans of Wolverine. He declared who will be the next Wolverine.
Mark Millar has said with much confidence that actor Taron Egerton will be the next to fill the shoes of Wolverine. Mark Millar was previously associated with Marvel and DC.
This prediction by Mark Millar came after a fan reminded him that he had correctly predicted the future twice to the dot
And later as a response, Millar posted on Twitter, “Always remember I’m never wrong. PS Taron Egerton will be the next Wolverine.”
Decoding Taron Egerton’s latest comments: Will he be the next Wolverine?
Taron Egerton has said that he is “slightly baffled” with how this rumour started. He straight up denied the rumour. “It’s unfounded. The only morsel of truth to it is that I’m a huge fan of the films, like 99.9 percent of the rest of the world. That’s kind of it, really. … I don’t quite know where it comes from. I’m flattered but baffled by it.”
Now that Marvel is in control of the X Men, even if he is actually secretly signing a deal with MCU, we believe (just like him) that he will be more suited to so many other roles. “There’s other characters that I think I’d be more suited to.”
But the 29-year-old Taron Egerton left the speculation window on Wolverine wide open. “If there’s one you want to play, it’s probably that one. I just love the wildness of Logan but I don’t know.”
And even though there is not an ounce of truth in the rumours, maybe MCU is scrolling through and already picturing the actor as Wolverine. To top it all, Taron Egerton is friends with Hugh Jackman. “I am buddies with Wolverine, yeah.”
He could always use a rich referral to become the next iconic superhero! (Now who doesn’t want that?!)
Where is the old Wolverine?
Hugh Jackman announced in 2017 that he would step down from his Wolverine role after 17 years. And this started a series of speculations as to who would be the next to play the part.
So, the rumours that Taron Egerton would be next Wolverine had been in the air for a while. But the actor himself addressed these rumours saying he wasn’t sure. It was in an interview on Heart Breakfast, that he said, “That one, I think, is just a rumour. As far as I’m aware it’s unfounded. I don’t know if I’m quite grisly enough. I mean, if the people at Marvel think I am, then great, let’s go. But I think there are better candidates. But I would love to be involved with that world somewhere.”
Taron Egerton and Mark Millar have worked together before. Previously, ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ and the sequel were both largely based on comics by Millar. He was in fact also the executive producer on these movies in which Egerton was in a major role.
