That signalled the end of George Clooney’s career in the superhero genre. He still became a global phenomenon with the Oceans franchise and kept doing landmark movies in between, but never again came a Marvel or DC moment. That is, up until now.
Who is Adam Warlock, the Superhero Chosen By Marvel for George Clooney?
So it seems George Clooney is ready to bid his full-time acting career goodbye with a bang. As per multiple reports, Marvel bosses are now increasingly confident of landing George Clooney to feature in the next Guardians of the Galaxy movie as Adam Warlock.
Adam Warlock in the Marvel Comic Universe was created in a lab by a group of dictatorial scientists known as the Enclave. Adam was created in the image of a ‘perfect being’ and was known as ‘Him.’ Him hurt the Enclaves plans of global domination. Eventually, he gets in a conflict with the Mighty Thor and tries to abduct Lady Sif. But a battle with the God of Thunder leads him to retreat to safety in a regenerative cocoon to be born again.
George Clooney’s Entry into Guardians of the Galaxy
The cocoon was discovered by High Evolutionary who christens Him, Warlock on the resurrection. They brought Him back to life by putting a soul gem (or soul stone, if you’ve just seen movies) in his head by the High Evolutionary. On counter-Earth, Warlock’s name Adam came from four teenagers who befriend him.
The soul gem (Like one in Vision’s head) makes Adam Warlock one of the most powerful MCU characters about to debut on screen. He has defeated Thanos multiple times and was once equipped with Infinity Gauntlet in comic canons. Adam Warlock’s strengths include Telepathy, Second Sight, Harnessing Cosmic Power, Unparalleled Intelligence and Superhuman Physiology. However, Adam Warlock is Defenceless against magic weapons. Phyla-Vell’s sword and the Godslayer killed his future self, Magus.
George Clooney’s Debut
The Ocean’s fame actor George Clooney has won the People’s Sexiest Man Alive twice. As per industry insider portals, Feige & Co see him as perfect to play Adam Warlock in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, despite failed superhero outings in the past as DC’s Batman.
The two-time Oscar winner George Clooney’s suave persona and the intense role will be a welcome addition to MCU. We personally think that the ladies man will be the perfect choice for Adam Warlock. A character of Adam Warlock is itself a big surprise for fans. Clooney can make it come alive on the big screen.
Clooney’s upcoming debut in the MCU
Clooney’s debut in The Marvel Cinematic Universe will be anything but not fun is not one of them. After Morbius, this will be one of the next characters from Comics to unveil the mystery and quench the thirsts of many Marvel geeks. Marvel is known to do everything in a grandeur way.
So, it will just be a notch above Phase 3 for sure. The characters that Marvel has in store are some of the best fictional characters ever written. So, hold your breath because Marvel surely will take it away.
