Brie Larson is now the first choice of every filmmaker – but only half a decade ago, almost every filmmaker was rejecting her.
It’s true that no matter how competent you are, you always need to earn what you deserve. This stands quite accurate for Brie Larson. Though as Captain Marvel she’s now the face of the biggest cinematic universe, MCU, and has several projects lined up for the near future, it wasn’t always the case.

Brie Larson’s journey through rejections
Brie Larson is now well-known for several feats and achievements like playing Captain Marvel in MCU, winning several awards for ‘Room’ including Academy Award, BAFTA Award, Golden Globe, etcetera. However, the path to this fame wasn’t easy, and we wouldn’t have known about all the rejections if Brie Larson hadn’t shared all of them.
In not one, but two videos shared by Brie Larson on her YouTube channel, she has discussed the list of movies and auditions she faced rejections in. Yes, the list is long, and that’s why two videos.
In the first video, Brie says: “… there’s been a lot of focus on my successes, and not on how hard it was, how much I was rejected, and you never know all the jobs that I didn’t get. So, I thought it might be interesting to talk about that.”
She went on to discuss all the rejections she faced since she was 7 years old, and there were some movies that caught our attention.

Yes, ‘Iron Man 2’ and ‘Thor’. It’s true that Brie Larson had previously auditioned for these MCU movies and was rejected, and 10 years into the future, she’s Captain Marvel. While Brie was the lead in ‘Kong: Skull Island’, she was, in fact, rejected from it in her first audition and was later selected when she auditioned again.
