It seems like the hit television series Gilmore Girls is looking for a way back to our screens after it’s revival in 2016. And Lauren Graham who played Lorelai finally has an answer for the fans.
A question that ages like fine wine. Is Gilmore Girls coming back? The favourite mother-daughter duo had long disappeared from our screens when Netflix cut open the wound that Gilmore Girls’ cancellation had left. And since the summer of 2016 when Gilmore Girls: A Year In Life released, fans have been left wondering if a successor for it’s reboot is on it’s way.
The revival came after a gap of 11 years but for fans, it was like Gilmore Girls never really left. The series resumed much of the older characters and it felt like we picked up right where we left off.

- Gilmore Girls: A Year In Life Movie
And it turns out the town of Star Hollow is planning to welcome back it’s residents again but this time in a Gilmore Girls movie.
Lorelai Is An Icon In Gilmore Girls
Lauran Graham portrayed a character that shaped opinions and sentiments of single mothers and the relationship between a mother-daughter for it’s audience.

Lorelai the character she portrayed was a single, smart, hard-working, witty and just plain cool woman (with coffee running instead of blood running in her veins) who did not let the rules of society dictate her life. The relationship she shared with Rory (Alexis Bledel) through the course of seven seasons in Gilmore Girls became a pedestal for mother-daughter relationships.
And this relationship between Lorelai and her daughter Rory combined with her wittiness and the ability to find happiness in what you have was the selling point of Gilmore Girls.

So, when Lauran Graham who played the iconic character tells you that a movie is the next step in the world of Gilmore Girls, you listen.
Gilmore Girls: The Movie
Just when we thought that four years seems too much for Gilmore Girls revival to happen, Lauran Graham stirs up the old wound again.
In a recent podcast, the actress confirmed saying that a Gilmore Girls movie is the way to go if the creators are looking for ways to stir things up again. She didn’t stop there. According to her a Christmas movie or any festive movie seems like the best choice. (Christmas movie? Yes, please!)
Graham described the feeling of being at the Star Hollow set with the cast after a decade long-hiatus as an intoxicating experience. One that she’d love to experience again. After all, there are so many more stories that these Gilmore Girls need to tell us and we are ready to listen if Netflix allows us the liberty again.
SO, what is the movie going to look like?
Gilmore Girls: A Year In Life Movie
The last memory there is of Gilmore Girls is rather a painful one. The mother-daughter duo who returned to the screen on Netflix in 2016 left us with some burning questions as the season ended. Cliff-hangers worthy of making you hang to every last word looking for answers that aren’t there.
The ending of Gilmore Girls: A Year In Life saw Rory revealing that she was pregnant while the identity of the baby’s father was kept under wraps. And the question of whether Rory will publish the book which reveals everything about her and her mother’s relationship to the world stil unanswered.
And if the writers do not want the audience to come up with answers for these questions on our own, I’d suggest a crisp, two-hour feature movie might be what the world of Gilmore Girls and it’s fans need right now.
And as for us, we’d do anything to visit our favourite town Star Hollow again.
