A year in the life Season 1 Recap
The Gilmore Girls debuted in 2000 with Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel as lead stars. Twenty years on, the GG fan base is stronger than ever. After the announcement about a Gilmore Girls revival was made, fans from all around the globe were ecstatic to see their favourite mother-daughter duo back on screen again.

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life season 1 is a four part mini series of the new journeys Lorelai and Rory take as they embark their separate ways and figure out life’s curve balls at different times and spaces.
While Rory figures out her life as a journalist, Lorelai deals with her father’s death. Consequently, her relationship with her mother Emily hits rock bottom. Rory also has some major issues with her mother as they don’t see eye to eye on the former’s book idea.
As the season comes to an end, Emily and Lorelai make amends as the former accepts her husband’s death. Life with Luke is great as the latter asks his hand in marriage. The season ends with a cliffhanger where Rory tells Lorelai that she is pregnant. So much for a life in full circle, right?
Season 2 could be a musical.
In an interview with American singer-songwriter Kelly Clarkson, Lauren Graham confirmed that Gilmore Girls could be a musical. “Have you considered a Gilmore Girls musical?” asked Clarkson as the studio audience hooted and cheered on in the background.

“I just want to see Luke dancing.” she added. “So I guess it was a running joke on the show where they assigned one of the reporters to cover Gilmore Girls the musical and that person is rolling their eyes because you know, it seems silly. But then there is discussion that it is a beloved show” responded Graham.
“I mean, I always felt that language and that kind of pace and the tone of the show is pretty theatrical- you have to take a deep long breath before delivering some of those lines. So I think it’s kind of a good idea. There’s so much dance in the show but again, if you ask me to sing I’ll just show up.” Exclaimed the actress.
A year in the life season 2 plot line and release date confirmation
If season 2 were to be a musical, it would be a grand one. The storyline would continue from where season 1 ended- Rory’s unexpected pregnancy.
Following the unforeseen development, fans will be able to indulge themselves in the lives of the Gilmore Girls, their respective partners and the birth of the baby that might bring the show’s plot in full circle.
While there is no confirmed release date, there are speculations that the new season might release in late 2021 or early 2022. Since all productions have been stalled due to the pandemic, it is safe to say that there is still hope for a new season. However, fans will have to wait a little longer.
