A famous K-Pop singer, Sulli, was found dead at her residence in South Korea on October 14. It is being speculated that the death was a suicide.

Sulli, a K-Pop singer who had been a victim of cyberbullying, was found dead at her home on the outskirts of South Korea’s capital, Seoul on Monday. The singer was just 25.
While no details relating to her death have been confirmed as of now, some are speculating that it is a suicide
It was her manager who discovered the sad truth. The manager had been trying to get in touch with Sulli but after failed attempts, he went to her house where he found her dead.
Sulli was a member of the K-pop band f(x)
Born as Choi Jin-ri in Busan, South Korea in 1994, she became a member of the K-pop band f(x) in 2009. Many media reports stated that the singer withdrew from work in 2014 as it was getting hard for her to cope with the continuous cyberbullying.
While her break was meant to last only a year, she quit the band in 2015. Instead, she started to pursue a career in acting. But she did eventually come back to music after three years in Dean’s 2018 single, ‘Dayfly’.
Shattered after Sulli’s death
The exact cause of Sulli’s death is under investigation. But, as per reports, the police did reveal that the 25-year-old was suffering from “severe depression”.
It has been a piece of shocking news for her fans. Especially because Sulli (Choi Jin-ri) was well-known for being outspoken and driving women’s rights who suffer from cyberbullying. For this, Sulli was active on social media and even hosted a TV series wherein celebrities opened up about their experiences on cyberbullying.
K-pop fans across the globe were left in sheer shock when news spread that Sulli is dead. “I always adored and respected you for your boldness. All I can say is rest in peace,” a fan commented on her Instagram handle.
According to an NDTV report, “South Korea has one of the world’s highest rates of suicide which, according to recent government figures, is among the top causes of death for those under 40.”
