With so many web series coming up every other day, the quality of the Indian entertainment platforms in enhancing. So much so that India has made it to the Emmy awards nominations!
A list of International Emmy Awards nominations has been made public, and India has proudly bagged three spots. Anurag Kashyap has hit the ball out of the park as the two web shows that he helmed have received multiple International Emmy Awards nominations. While the globally successful Netflix India’s web series, ‘Sacred Games,’ was nominated for the Best Drama Series, Lust Stories bagged two nominations (Best Miniseries and Best Actress).

These nominations prove that the quality of content, acting, and cinematography available to the Indian audience has upgraded to a whole new level. Sacred Games and Lust Stories are some of the many projects that have propelled the standards of entertainment in India.

Anurag Kashyap could not hide his excitement as he took to Instagram to share the tremendous piece of news with his fans and followers. in fact, his words are proof to his excitement, “What a day . 3 Emmy Nominations . 1.lust stories (best miniseries) 2.Sacred Games (best Drama) 3. But it is not only Anurag Kashyap who is on cloud nine. Elated to hear the news, powerhouse Radhika Apte too is over the moon. And why should she not be! The Indian actress has bagged the Best Actress nomination at the 2019 International Emmy Awards for her performance in the Netflix film ‘Lust Stories’.
But no one can match the high spirits of Sacred Games protagonist, Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui). While his phenomenally famous Netflix India’s series has been nominated for Best Drama category at Emmy Awards, he has yet another good news. His international series, McMafia, too has received a nomination in the same category! So, it seems he is surely taking an Emmy home.

Have you gotten around to watch any of the nominated Indian gemstones? Sacred Games is a web series co-directed by Anurag Kashyap along with Neeraj Ghaywan (season 2) and Vikramaditya Motwane (showrunner as well as season 1 co-director).
Apart from that, Lust Stories is an anthology comprising of four short films helmed by Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee, and Karan Johar.
with such a huge team of producers and directors, Twitter was filled with praises from the complete cast and crew.
Karan Johar (Lust Stories co-director) tweeted, “So proud and excited that our anthology Lust Stories is nominated at the Emmys.” The 47-year-old filmmaker also thanked his fellow directors Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and Dibakar Banerjee in the tweet. He added, “Our quartet rocks. Thanks for the support.”
Vikramaditya Motwane (Sacred Games director) tweeted, “#SacredGames got Emmy-Nated!!! A massive Congrats, Hug and Kiss to the whole team. You guys are amazing.”
Neeraj Ghaywan, who co-helmed the second season of Sacred Games tweeted, “Delighted! #SacredGames2 is nominated for International Emmy awards.
